Y/N mostly found herself staring at the back of her classmate, Brian Mayâs head during long lectures. He had short loose curls in a Hendrix kind of style. His hair shook sometimes when he moved and Y/N thought it was adorable. Brian always had these tight sweaters (that never really covered his whole arm) that showed off his long veiny forearms, they made her drool just thinking about it. Brian almost silently whispered to his friend with a quiet chuckle. Y/N stifled a laugh at his laugh. God, he was so cute. Y/N was brought out of La-La land when her friend, Jo, pinched her arm.Â
âWhat was that for?â Y/N whisper yelled, furrowing her eyebrows. Jo rolled her eyes, slumping back in her chair.Â
âToo caught up in Mister Handsome over there. Havenât heard a damn word Iâve said,â She huffs before glancing at Brian, âI donât understand why you canât just talk to Bri-â The teacher clears his throat and looks at Y/N and Jo with a disapproving look.Â
âGirls.. Please wait till after class for the chit chat.â He shakes his head before turning to the chalkboard and beginning to carry on with the lesson. Brian looks back at Jo and Y/N and Y/Nâs heart almost jumps out of her chest. She internally screams, jumps, and hugs Jo. She really wouldâve if it was just Brian looking at her and no one else mattered. Jo looks at Y/N with a raised eyebrow before noticing Brian and sighing.Â
Y/Nâs mind immediately thinks about Brian noticing her again. What if he liked her back and didnât have the courage to talk to her? No, thatâs just being silly. Or is it? The thought of Brian never really knowing her stresses her out more than anything going on in her life right now. While Y/N is caught up in her thoughts, the loud bell rings and she and Jo pack up.
After class, Jo and Y/N head to their shared flat, taking off their coats. Y/N plops down on the couch, exhaling deeply. Jo walks over and sits beside her, looking down at her.
âWhat now?â Jo says, going to pet her hair.
âNothing,â Y/N murmurs into a pillow, knowing that it really wasnât nothing. She just couldnât stop thinking about Brian. Usually she could take her mind off him easily if she really tried but this time it wasnât working. âItâs justâŚâ Y/N trails off, gripping the pillow she was talking into a few moments back. Jo just looks at her, not saying a word, just petting the younger womanâs hair.
Y/N thought it was stupid. The man didnât even know her, I mean, even if he did know her name it wasnât like they knew each other from being friends. Itâs embarrassing to get all worked up just because he looked at you. She stayed silent, just looking at Jo. âLoveâ is embarrassing.Â
_ _ _
Y/N is alone in the house. Jo has gone off onto a date with Roger, Brianâs best friend. All she can do is toss and turn, staring at the ceiling every once and a while. It wasnât long before Y/N
got a phone call. She groaned softly and whispered to herself, âWho could it be at this hour?â To be fair, it was 12 AM. She steadily picked up the receiver and mumbled a âhelloâ into the speaker before hearing a familiar and beloved voice. Brian. Y/N listens to Brianâs voice intently, her heart pounding.
âHey, uh, is this Joâs flatmate,YN?â he says into the phone softly. âRoger wanted to let you know that Jo wonât be coming back home tonight.â Thereâs a clear implication in between the lines of the last sentence. Really? On the second date? Damn, ok. Y/N thought. She takes a deep breath before speaking to Brian.
âOkay. Thanks for letting me know,â Y/N blushed profusely, tapping her fingertip on her nightstand. The silence was awkward and it made Y/N more uncomfortable every second. âIs this Brian May?â
He hummed a response before speaking again, âI tried to drive them to your flat but Roger was stubborn and drunk so it was no use.â He lightly chuckled nearing his last words. Y/N faked a laugh.Â
âIâm guessing Jo gave you my number?âÂ
âOh yes.â Brian says awkwardly.
Y/N attempts to drag on the conversation as long as she can, she just wanted to hear Brian talk, âSo how long have you and Roger been friends?âÂ
âAbout a year now. I met him when our band first started. You know the band Smile, right?â He asks. Y/N didnât even know he had a band. Didnât even know he could play an instrument or sing. Itâs clear she had some catching up to do.Â
âNo. Not really. Sorry.â Itâs only later into the conversation she realizes how bitchy that sounded.Â
âOh. Well itâs just a regular band. I play guitar, Rog drums and we have a lead singer who also plays bass. Weâre obviously called Smile,â He snickers and continued his words, âWe play here sometimes or at a random pub. You know actually we have a gig next Saturday on campus. Iâd like it if you would be able to go. Are you free?â He hesitates when he asks. Y/N couldnât believe anything that was going on in this moment was happening. Maybe he really did like her back. No, donât be crazy. Y/N thinks to herself.
âIs Jo going?â Y/N asks in a curious tone. If Jo wasn't going, she wasnât going.
âI think so. Roger never told me but Iâm guessing she would.â Brian says, nervous, sensing her hesitation.Â
Brian agrees, âYeah. See you there, Y/N. Bye Bye.â Y/N mutters a âbyeâ as well, nearly out of breath because of how he said her name.Â
Note: I HAD FINALS IM SORRY. THIS IS A FILLER NEXT CHAPTWR IS GOOD I SWEAR
Warnings: Light swearing, Throwing up mentions.

âIâd have his babiesâ
âSave that for your diary, Y/N.â Jo says going for yet another pint while they watch the gig. Y/N sat there, watching this beautiful man sheâs loved since what feels like forever, doing what he loves most. She wish we was what he loved most and would do he-
She shook the thought. Calm down, Y/n, youâre in public. Jo was staring down Roger the whole show, even managing to tilt her high heels up enough to peek up over his drums and the stage in the way. Y/N instinctively covered Joâs backend with her body since the skirt she was wearing was a little bit too little. By the end of the show, Y/N was queasy again. Brian would be near her again and heâd look at her again.
The next couple of minutes followed up to Y/N sitting at the bar with Roger, Brian, and Jo. She couldnât help but to look Brianâs way. God, was he perfect. Brian obviously mustâve noticed the plea to talk to him in her eyes because he switched seats to sit next to her.
âHey,â Brian starts, setting his glass down, âenjoy the show?â
Y/N stills and looks at him for a second, âOh, yes! It was lovely.â She blushes as she feels Brianâs eyes on her face. Brian smiled at her and it melted her heart.
Gosh, did she love his canine teeth that poke out when he smiles. Or how his eyes look so soft like a motherâs eyes. The way his nose pointed in a specific way that just looked so good.
They talked for a while and the more they did the more Y/N felt her insides turn. She didnât know if it was the alcohol or Brianâs beautiful eyes staring back at her but she felt like she needed to throw up.
âExcuse me.â Y/N quickly says before rushing to the bathroom, feeling her throat start to swell up with the outcome of drinking alcohol.
âY/N? Are you okay?â Brian follows behind her. He could clearly not read the room. Y/N felt his hand on her back and she tensed up. She simply shook her head and ran into the toilets. The toilets were obviously nasty as hell considering it was a college bar, but it didnât stop her from getting on her knees and hacking up the liquor.
Brian cringed as he listened from the other side of the door, squeezing his eyes closed. Once he heard the toilet flush, he felt relieved. Brian peeked in the bathroom and went to her aid as she stumbled up on her heels to get up.
âAre you okay, Y/N?â He brushed her hair out of her face and half-way held her hand in his. Y/N was in her own little world up until now. She realized she was with Brian, him holding her hand, making sure sheâs okay and she felt as if she never wanted anything more or anything less than what she felt right now.
âOh,â Y/N swallowed. ânow I am. I think.â She knew she sounded cliche but who cares? She loved him in a way not even movies could convey.
âGood. I donât like to see my friends not well.â Brian comments before letting go of her hand. âIf you need anything, I'll help you.â
Y/N was reminded by his words of how far she was from having him and it crushed her soul. She watched him leave the grotesque bathroom but stayed for a while. She just wanted to drink or sleep and forget about it but she couldnât do either.
Y/N leans against the wall, minding any stains, just sitting there for a minute. She wished everything was a fairytale and went her way. But she also knows you canât waste your time on a man who youâre not even sure loves you back. Y/N wished to have the mentality of girls who just donât care. Girls who donât mind being alone, girls who donât care if a man likes them back and lives how they want, girls who donât spend hours getting ready for someone who doesnât like you back.
She thought she was one of those girls until she met Brian. Sheâd never loved anyone like him. Brian was special. Brian wasnât like any other man. Heâs got an aura around him that radiates kind energy and thatâs what she wanted in her chaotic life. Peace.
Sitting at the bar, Brian watched as Jo and Roger flirted before looking back down at his cup. He kept thinking about Y/N and how beautiful she looked but knew it was taboo. She was off-limits, right?
_ _ _
Over the next couple of weeks, Y/N and Brian hung out a few times. The air around them was like their souls were one. It felt right to be near each other. It felt right to be touching. It felt right to laugh with each other.
âMate, when do you plan on getting laid?â Roger remarks to Brian randomly.
âI donât want to answer that question.â Brian replies, sipping his morning coffee.
âWhat? Youâre never with any girls anymore! WaitâŚâ Roger makes an expression that acts if he has a lightbulb above his head. âY/N.â
âNo, Rog. Not Y/N.â Brian defends and puts his coffee down while shaking his head. Roger still stands suspicious though, connecting the dots in his head.
âWell.. you do get nervous every time you talk about her, change the topic when i talk about getting laid, and all you want to do is hang out with her.â
Brian ignores him and gets his bag ready for another long dreadful day of college.
âOh, what? Gotta see your girlfriend again?â Roger suggests, laughing at Brian in his head. Brian sticks his tongue out at Roger childishly before grabbing his keys.
Y/N was talking to herself in her head while finishing up the details of her makeup. She felt as if even herself couldnât understand what kind of a chokehold Brian had on her. Brian felt like teenage love.
Y/N thought of Brian as her first love, sheâd like to think of it that way.
I would honestly lick the sweat off of him
