A day in a life of RonToto: Vienna

One of the fountains of Strudlhofstiege; the palace garden park; the National Bank’s heavy door; and the historical lamppost.

Yesterday Ron and I took a walk around the AirBnB we rented in the city of Vienna. We visited the National Bank as Ron had a client there. A big shot old European aristocrat. It has to do with a person. A renowned stage actor to be exact. Ron told me to keep quiet now. So I’ll keep my mouth shut. Anyway, we visited a palace with a beautiful garden and a flight of stairs that was supposed to be one of the most beautiful of all in the city. A tip: Sigmund Freud used to live in this district and had his first consultation office here too. It is now a museum and they even preserved the couch his clients used to lie on. The birthplace of psychoanalysis.

That same day, the old aristocrat invited us for a dinner. This restaurant, Plachutta, serves traditional Viennese cuisine. He urged me to order Tafelspitz. It was so good! But the portion was probably good for two people. It was soup and main course in one. The fried potato strips were so delicious. And the soup with tender beef and bone marrow were to die for. My Japanese palate is not used to this serving. The homemade apple sauce and garlic cream were a good choice. I even had sautéed spinach. Ron had Wiener Schnitzel with potato salad and beer.

He urged me to order a Nachspeise, German word for dessert, but I was too full.

Anyway, there are a couple of Asian stores here too. To my delight one of them sells 🍡 so Ron and I grabbed one pack and we might eat them tonight.

So there you go. If Ron would let me I might talk about the case of the old aristocrat in the coming days or so.

Ah, summer in Vienna is sometimes unbearable.

this. This bit right here where he dries L’s hair off. on the surface, it seems like a nice gesture- something kind, the sort of thing you do just to be nice, and fair, not expecting a reward.

but look:

The only reason Light cared was because L’s hair was dripping water onto his foot. What I take from this scene is that Light only cares to do anything particularly benevolent when it’s directly affecting him, be that L’s hair dripping water on him, or his need to feel like a God. His superiority complex makes him appear kind, but he would have no interest in helping others if it weren’t serving him in some way.

Idk I just think its interesting :))

After his father's death, Ron's position in the family worsened. When he was a child, the M family had enough conscience not to touch him, but in his teenage years, everything changed.

Ron was never a weakling. He was handsome, smart and charismatic. He was the kind of person the public would prefer to see in a political leader's place. Of course, this could not go unnoticed by the M family, and especially Mylo, who always disliked Ron.

It was the only time in his life that Mylo got his hands dirty, carving 96 into the neck of seventeen-year-old Ron. And no matter how nimble and agile Ron was, that time he was unable to escape the strong grip of men who were several times larger and stronger than him.

From that time on, he was left with a mark that reminded him his whole life who he really was, and a panicky fear that appeared every time someone suddenly took his hand.

Someone asked me and now I am also tormented by the question. Like exactly how old is Toto, and age of the other characters (Kawasemi and Amamiya)? I know this is not mentioned anywhere other than the fact that he is clearly under 30. But how old is he...🤔🤔

How do you think? Because it's hard for me to guess his age...

Thank you for this ask. But I have to admit one thing.

I cannot decide if Toto is just a few years older than Ron or there would be a 10-year difference. Anime Toto is, according to Kawasemi san, is a greenhorn at the police force. If ever, then their age difference would probably be like their VAs, only three-year gap (Youhei is 32 and Enojun is 35). Ron is 22 then Toto is 25/26.

I head-canon manga Toto as in his late 20s-early 30s. Entered the police force when he was 25 through his grandma. It took a while before he was accepted to the investigative division. He trained a lot and worked his way up there. But yes, him being resolute is a blessing and a curse. He only has a baby face.
