it’s always a beautiful sight to see your boyfriend, ajax, when he cooks in the kitchen.

second to the battlefield, this place is his domain. the sound of soft music plays in the background, and he’s completely in his element. the ginger moves his hips to the rhythm, swaying ever so gracefully while mumbling the lyrics to the current song under his breath. he’s always been a great dancer, so you’re not surprised. it makes you wonder if there’s anything he’s not good at.

you always adore seeing him in atmospheres such as this one, especially with how much he loves to cook. his lips are pursed in concentration, a cute crinkle to his nose on display from the small frown on his face. all of his movements are skilled and dexterous. his knife abilities—albeit ignoring the fact that he’s a harbinger—are precise and quick, almost like everything he’s doing is a second thought.

it may be the alcohol you had talking, or the everlasting love you have for him—or maybe both that gets you feeling extremely soft. the urge to kiss away the expression on his face is high, but you hold back on distracting him and starting something else entirely.

and speaking of distractions, your handsome boyfriend is sporting a v-neck crew shirt and some sweatpants. much different from his sharp work attire. and although loose, the material of his clothes are still somewhat form fitting. his back muscles had been flexing every so often in a way that makes it hard to peel your eyes away. you silently curse his lean muscular self for looking so soft and domestic. just really, how shameless—

“hey! you’re supposed to be helping, not slacking off!” ajax scolds, pointing a wooden spoon at you in a chastising way. but the playful lit to his tone suggests otherwise as he cocks his head, smiling. “mila, what are you daydreaming about from over there?”

you giggle, “sorry, i’m just admiring the view.”

he hums, his smile growing. “and is the view to your liking?”

“it’s likely.” you answering padding over to him.

“i hope so. i don’t look this good for nothing.”

once in his radius, he pulls you into his side, swaying you both as he stirs the food. he quietly tells you it’s his mother’s recipe and his favorite thing to make.

“may i try some?” you ask.

wordlessly, your boyfriend holds out a spoonful for you, and you happily eat off of the utensil. the juices and flavors evade your mouth, beating the rich aroma you’ve succumbed to long ago.

you close your eyes in bliss, blinking them open happily. “wow! it’s delicious, ‘jax!”

“it’s not done yet.” he explains, humbly. “almost, but not quite.”

“okay, perfectionist.” you laugh, going back for more. “still good enough to me.”

he pushes your hand back. “you’ll spoil your appetite.” he warns, frowning.

“i promise i don’t want a lot. just a smidge more. please?” you look up at him with the biggest doe eyes you can muster, and he falters, trying to look away and focus back on what he’s doing.

as uncharacteristic as it may seem, ajax does not put up very much of a fight. not that he could ever say no to you anyways.

he sighs, “alright…fine.”

while you sit and eat (after clearly giving up on helping), your boyfriend starts to ramble about some theater performance he wants to take you to in fontaine.

“so what do you think?”

you hum quietly in response, your cheek on your hand. “mmh that sounds nice…”

ajax glances over at you, concerned. you had grown awfully quiet.

“are you alright?” he asks, inspecting the rest of you for any strange signs. “we don’t have to go if you don’t want to.”

“i want to, yes!” your thoughts are jumbled. “and m’fine. why?” you add to reassure him, “just tired.”

‘tired? you were fine just fifteen minutes ago. so full of energy, actually’ he thinks, watching the way your eyes are suddenly drooping.

“well don’t worry, i’m almost done.” ajax assures.

“hey. did you put this in the food?” you hold up the open bottle of white wine, and some of the contents spill out. however, your boyfriend is quick to grab it once seeing how you’re swaying.

suddenly it all clicks in his brain. “ahh, i might’ve put in too much.” he chuckles, now noting the smell of the food a little bit different than usual. stronger and sharper like the wine. “that explains things. plus the firewater we had from earlier.” he recalls you taking an impressive amount of shots, trying to out beat him.

“didn’t you once say something about sharing firewater with someone in the cold makes them trustworthy? i’ve done half the battle!” you say with pride, albeit wobbling a little. “let’s go sit outside later! we’ll see who freezes first!”

ajax stares at you in awe before laughing—loudly.

“milaya, you always surprise me with just how cute you can be.” he pinches your cheeks before moving his hand to your lower back, steering you towards the couch. “now come on, sit down. you’re going to fall over at this rate.”

“‘kay.” you mumble, letting him guide you. you don’t really feel yourself moving until the plush cushion under you meets your bottom.

“i’m just going to clean up and i’ll be right back. i promise.” he reassures, squeezing your hand before releasing it.

you jump back up eagerly, “i’ll help!”

“no, you’ll stay here.” he pushes you back down gently before standing up himself. there’s a stern look on his face as he says, “you’ve had too much to drink. that’s my fault.”

a small huff leaves your mouth and you pout. your eyes start to water. “then…at least sit with me!”

“the kitchen has to be cleaned up, lisichka.” he reminds gently.

your eyes grow wetter. “the kitchen is more important than me?”

he gives you a look. “nothing could ever be more important than you. you know that.”

“then…you’ll stay. it is your fault after all.”

he laughs, scratching the back of his head, “alright then. but only for a little bit.”

the minute he sits down, you promptly slide yourself onto his lap, wordlessly making yourself comfortable.

“oh? what’s this?” his heart swells. you’re usually too shy to initiate something like this, often leading him to pulling you onto him.

there’s a confused look on your face. “you said to sit down and stay here, so i’m doing that.” you blink slowly, head tilting. “did i sit wrong?”

“no, of course not.” he answers, kissing your forehead. thankfully you’re too out of it to tease him, or he’d never hear the end of it.

he shifts you so your legs straddle his lap. your face is buried in his neck, breathing in the smell of his aftershave and the pinewood scent of him. one hand reaches up towards his soft locks and mindlessly plays with it.

ajax feels his entire being burning with exhilaration. while he knows how to handle his alcohol way better than you do, he is not immune to your touches. he could get intoxicated and drunk on any little thing you do.

a satisfied exhale leaves the man and he closes his eyes for moment, his nose nuzzling your cheek. the feeling of your warm palms sliding across his face pull him out of the moment before your eyes meet.

you hum, staring at him closely. “have your eyes always looked like this?” you ask.

he blinks. “like what? and why?”

“they’re so blue. i’ve never seen eyes like yours before.”

“no, they haven’t.” he answers honestly. he tries to avert his attention away from you, but your hands grab his face again.

“they’re so pretty…like the ocean…” you breathe, now poking at his freckles. “you’re so pretty…”

the man is pretty sure he’s blushing right now when you speak, rambling and comparing him like the sea. of the comforting warmth and unpredictability of the weather, all comparable to his nature—which you love.

you must be trying to kill him, because what he doesn’t expect next is for you to kiss him on the nose, and then his cheeks.

by the time he’s chasing your lips with his own, you’re pulling back, giggling quietly.

“hey, you can’t just tease like that—“ you slump against him, and he freezes, eyes widening.

“milaya?”

“…”

pulling your face back from his chest, he notes that you’ve passed out.

ajax tugs you tight in his hold, tucking your face in the crook of his neck. the smell of your hair makes his heart grow even bigger and fonder.

“by the tsaritsa, my cute girlfriend can’t hold her alcohol well,” he laughs to himself, absently tracing shapes into your lower back, “i’m sure glad this happened at home, or god knows what would happen out in public.”

he doesn’t really know if he’d be more worried about your own safety, or the things he’d do if someone dared to take advantage of you.

either way, his endless vow to protect you couldn’t be broken anyway anyhow. not even in death. he’d be loyal to you for a thousand life times.

bonus:

waking up groggily, you rub your eyes, shield them from from the unavoidable brightness of the sun.

while warm light hits your face, it only makes you feel hot and cold all at the same time. a feeling that should be welcoming only suffocates you instead as an ache converges the nerve points in your head.

“rise and shine sleeping beauty.”

you turn limply, eyes widening at the sight of ajax standing in the doorway.

“i was really hoping on you waking up soon.” he says pushing the door open further. he holds a tray of food in his hands. padding over to you he nods to the water and ibuprofen on the bedside table. “once you eat some, you should really take that.”

maybe its the sleep in your eyes or the fact that you’re not fully awake yet, but you tear up. “you’re always taking care of me.”

“yep, that is my job.” he places the food down, leaning over to kiss away any stray tears.

“thank you.”

he clicks his tongue. “what did i tell you about thanking me for things like this?”

you roll your eyes. such a stubborn man.

you quietly tell him that your brain is foggy, and while you partially don’t want to know, wish that he recall what last happened when you were awake.

“you should’ve seen how cute you were while drunk. i don’t think i could ever forget it.” he laughs once he’s done recapping.

blood rushes to your cheeks, your face aflame. “i’m not going to be able to live this down, am i?”

ajax laughs again, “don’t think so! although, being passed out for pretty much the whole day is alarming, so i don’t think we will be letting you near any alcohol anytime soon.”

your shoulders droop, “i guess that’s fair…”

“don’t be so sad! here, let me feed you!” he moves behind you, sitting down on the bed so his legs are on either side of you. his chest presses into your backside as he reaches for the food.

“‘jax i can feed myself just fine.” you say, going for the spoon, but his reflexes are faster.

“please?” he looks down at you, hoping his ocean hues favor him.

you sigh. “fine.”

the two of you sit in comfortable silence as he feeds you, and you being hungrier than you realize, finish everything quickly.

“i almost forgot! you owe me something.” he says coyly.

you frown, “huh?”

“after all that teasing yesterday…you left me high and dry…” he sniffs.

you blink, and suddenly it’s clear what he’s insinuating. “a kiss?”

“so you remember?” he asks.

you shrug, “just barely…”

“well, know that you’re aware—“ he scoots towards you, knees bumping your own before he’s pulling you towards him.

a yelp leaves you. “b-but i just ate food! and…and i need to brush my teeth!” you protest, but he’s still hovering close over you.

“so?”

there’s no use, because the minute you open your mouth to reply, ajax swoops down, kissing you wordlessly and hungrily. his tongue brief swipes over yours before he soon pulls back.

there’s a mild grimace on his face, “yeah, go brush your teeth.”

you shove him back on the bed, making him holler with laughter, “i told you!”

“it was still worth it, mila!” he shouts after you.

“fuck you.” you spit.

“with pleasure.” he smiles.

notes: my mom added too much white wine to food she made, so she’s the running inspiration for this. shout out to her!

Are you feeling happy?

Aventurine avoids all the popular teen hang-out spots like fast food restaurants, arcades, bowling arenas, etc. Because he didn't get to experience all those in his own childhood and feels out of place and unworthy to be there.

The same for family-oriented places, like amusement parks, or water parks, cause, what family?

That's why he hides himself in casinos or other adult places, where everyone else is as desperate and pathetic as him, just so he won't have to witness the life he never got (or according to him, never can)

So, when you take him out to such places, he had previously avoided like the plague, teaching him all those silly fast food hacks, and playing on the slides or swings meant for kids, it isn't just a silly date like you think, for him it's a therapeutic experience, healing his inner child.

It was intriguing, how could he not?

The beginning was normal, fun, exciting

Then they mentioned a chief alchemist somewhere along the way and his reaction was something like:

"Oh? A person of alchemy? This would be intriguing..."

He likes alchemy, after all

A few days — or had it been months? — had passed, and the new 1.2 update had been released, alongside a new area in Mondstadt called 'Dragonspine'

Lo and behold, the chief Alchemist of the Knights of Favonius had turned out to be the new 5 star character, Y/n!

He wasn't smitten at first, only interested

They had many similarities to him

They came home the first 30 pulls on their banner, and Albedo was elated!

After a while of doing the event (getting a bit mad at Reckless Pallad for being a damn idiot), he started enjoying and (though unknowingly) liking Y/n

You bet he finished the event just to get the sword to r5

He farmed their artifacts well and made them the best support ever, occasionally using them as a DPS too

The moment your sibling had been introduced, the first thing he thought of was how she was so similar to Klee, and how your relationship with her was similar to his and Klee's

Haha he wished for them too, got around 70 pity though

Talks to Klee about you and your sibling, and to no surprise, she likes you and your sibling too!

A bit sad about the death flags around your character, but he knows he can't do anything about it just yet

He smiles so fondly whenever you do the idle animation with the twig

When he found out you were an artist, he wss even more elated!

Honestly I don't know what possessed him to play the game when it was released

Boredom? Curiosity? Was he being held at gunpoint?

Either way, he just skimmed through the beggining, boredly reading dialogue until the very first event happened

Wasn't very interested at first, didn't like the astrologist and was a bit annoyed by — how was her name spelled again?

You showed up a bit after, standing over a guy on the ground

The character seemed a bit normal at first, polite (which kind if irked him) so he completely ignored them

Yada, yada, yada, they're talking about astrology and the meteors and—

"Hi!"

There you are again.

"Sounds interesting... Mind if I join you?"

The astrologist quickly took the screen once again, brining the traveller and the princess away in a ball of hydro

His mission was to sneak away, so he did just that, very skillfully

Finally reaching a cutscene, he stretched his limbs and watched

Huh? Who was that? A new character?

They jumped up from the back of the stairway, hydro blades casting a rainbow effect to the screen as it met sun rays

They fought off the guards and holy shit—

Continues the quest, and when Paimon mentiones something about doting on you, he's all like "YES"

The cafe’s heaters radiate warmth around the building like the hug of a fireplace. Chatter mingles with the smell of sweet vanilla and holiday spices, just as Xiao stirs his drink to mix the caramel with its contents.

“So, Mr Top-Rated Boyfriend,” you tease. “How hard was it to arrange a break during the Christmas period?”

Xiao raises a brow. “About as hard as it was for you…?”

You nod in faux-seriousness. “I see, so it was a hard-earned battle…”

“Was it that bad?” His lips quirk amusedly. “Or did you just get into a debate with your agency again?”

“I had to cancel a recent booking,” you admit, taking a bite of your dessert. “It was a regular client though, so they were understanding about it.”

A frown. “We could’ve just rescheduled our own hangouts, you know.”

Noticing Xiao’s expression, you make a resolute stab at your plate. “Nope, I wouldn’t allow it! Cafe-hopping with my best friend is a very important event, and I wasn’t about to back down just for a bit more money.”

His lips quirk. “What if it was a lot more money?”

“Hmm… it’d have to be enough to pay for a tower of macarons, and even more.” You nod to yourself, successfully drawing a laugh out of him. The playful mood makes your heart feel light, and you rest your elbows on the table to lean closer. “…So yeah, I wouldn’t have abandoned you.”

“I’m honored,” Xiao’s ears are slightly flushed from the walk you took earlier. You can’t help but admit that he was cute, on top of being really attractive. Golden eyes twinkle as he rests his cheek against the palm of his hand. “So what shall we do for the rest of winter?”

How cruel for him to be like this, and for you to feel at home with Xiao; you wonder if he feels it too, the push and pull of emotions leashed by both your occupations.

Xavier is the type of player to listen to your secret times or tender moments and fall asleep listening to your voice. He likes to imagine you’re right beside him before he falls into his peaceful slumber.

However he does get hard listening to your suggestive audio or scenes that play out.

Spends most of his time grinding out materials for your memories so your character is strong when he reaches end game. Almost has your DeepSpace Trial finished and your affinity level maxed.

Ignores all the calls and text messages of the other main leads except yours.

When he runs out of content for you in the game, he would find solitude on watching edits or reading fanfics of you until the game finally updates its lore for you. Sometimes he'll replay the kindle moments of his favorite cards of you, which is literally all of them.

Zayne:

Nobody expected Zayne to be the type to play this game and at first, neither did he. But he downloaded the game out of curiosity and ended up playing until he reached the end game.

He has your affinity almost maxed out while the rest of the other leads are lower level. He would know all of your lore and has read all of your anecdotes without skipping them for the gems.

Uses the quality time to keep track of his studies but he can’t help but often glance at his screen and find you glancing back at him as well.

He has the Aurum Pass Premium and saves all of his diamonds for your upcoming banners. Does not even bother checking any of the other main leads in the game unless the banner included you

He ONLY plays this game in his room or whenever he's alone. Even though he has his headphones in, he can't help but look around to make sure nobody heard any of your suggestive sounds that sounded like a breathy moan. His ears would turn so red and he can't help but find his hand sliding down his pants

Rafayel:

The type of player that took hours customizing his character to make sure it looks exactly like him. He spends a lot of time with his character and yours in the photo booth. He tries to do a lot of glitches so it looks like you guys are kissing or hugging or him hitting it from the back.

The type that never lets you have a turn at the claw machine. If you managed to have a turn first, he’s IMMEDIATELY requesting to have the next turn. Yes, he thinks your pout is cute whenever you don’t get the plushie but he is NOT wasting any affinity points.

He would use all of his daily emojis just to talk to you and pokes you a lot in the cafe until you get annoyed.

The type to make the most beautiful fanart of you and make the most entertaining edits of you on social media. The type to freak out when he hears your solo banner is coming. He’s literally kicking his feet and rolling around in his bed in excitement

Sylus:

Sylus wasn’t interested in the game at first until your trailer kept popping up and out of curiosity and interest in your character, he decided to try it.

He became the BIGGEST spender when it comes to only your character. He would have all your cards maxed out from the levels and to the protocores. Each card he has of you would be ranked up to level 3 and most of your five stars are awakened. He has all your outfits and all of your poses.

However he would have the biggest frown on his face when he loses his pity the first couple of pulls. That’s not going to stop him until he has all your memories.

He is the type to tease your character by touching you a lot in the cafe to the point you're crossing your arms with a pout and your cheeks are flushed.

Spends a while in the photobooth to stare at your chest or you characters butt. Shamelessly tries to do a couple dirty glitches and the thought of you being real wouldn't leave his mind

Venti:

Having been the first ever character banner of the released game he wasn’t even prepared in trying to wish for your character

Since then he’s had to live through his friends who were fortunate to get you, but hearing word that you’d be getting rerun was so exciting

He made sure to save up every primogem he could and even saved up money for the just in case funds (he’s had to hold back on buying alcohol or at least buy cheaper brands) 

The moment your banner is live he’s already streaming eager to go to start wishing. His chat is sending good luck and good vibes as the chaos begins while Venti is singing for you to come home

He’s probably calculated things so that he was close to his pity as he could only pray that the archons will let him win his pity:

When getting the gold star he’s eager, but seeing it was a different 5 star he didn’t have or added constellation he’s very sad; however there’s still hope as now he had you guaranteed 

But if he won his 50/50 he is spinning in his chair out of joy; he’ll be even more ecstatic if he gets multiple of you in a 10 pull, it’s a miracle 

You are instantly going into his party, he’s going to level you up since he had prepared himself beforehand so he’s all set. You’re at the front of his party and you will forever stay there

Albedo:

He was one of the few that really wanted to get you when your first banner was released. It was rather disappointing when he was unable to get you from failed pity

Though now that the announcement that you’d be getting a rerun at some point he was getting his hopes up again as he is very much prepared this time around

He has been very good about saving up as also he has been very strategic of what banners he wanted to pull on before you came out wanting to have others that would best support your skills and burst

When the time has come he has been drawing during the whole maintenance time on stream. Mainly it was doodles of you or even possibly an oc he was working on

When it’s finally live he is very confident, since he probably has it all calculated out especially if he had failed his last pity. This will be one of the rare moments when his viewers get to see him show a lot of emotion. You are being put right into the party and before he does anything of building you with what he got prepared just for you; he’s going straight to the voicelines to hear your birthday dialog since his birthday was in September, life is good

Childe:

Truly it was a shocker that he didn’t manage to get you on your banner when your first banner was out. He was very bummed out as you were so cool but also really attractive for an “enemy”. On one bright side of things he did get your weapon so that was all prepared for when you do come home 

He is the MOST impatient one out of the other streams when having to wait during maintenance, but he will not sleep until he can finally wish for you. But of course he’s gonna stream Doom or some other fighting intense game to hang out with his viewers for the meantime

He probably would be doing giveaways as well in celebration of your banner returning or just sending surprise donations to other genshin streamers that happen to be streaming during the downtime as well 

When the time finally comes he is literally bouncing in his gamer chair with pure excitement. But of course before he starts wishing he absolutely has to have your plushie in his arms because he just loves you that much

Regardless if he had won or lost his pity, the moment you first appear and he sees your splash art he’s crying tears of joy that you’ve finally arrived and he can spoil you (tho of course he ain’t gonna stop until he gets all your const.) As of course you’re first in his party and he literally has all the materials to not only ascend you to level 100, but to crown your talents too (he wasn’t playin around) all in all he was very prepared for your arrival

Ayaka:

She was devastated when she failed to bring you home during your first banner, but upon hearing that you would be coming back again fairly in a close coming update she was filled with hope once again

Of course she had been trying to save up (though sometimes she couldn’t help but dip into her wishes for other characters) but now that it was confirmed that you were coming back she got back on track of saving her gems as of course she is more than willing to spend some money if she needed to

When it comes maintenance time she probably would kill time hanging out with Thomas and Ayato (who also play) just so she could distract herself since it felt like it was taking ages to finish

Or if she wasn’t with the two she was seeing to other important matters that needed to be taken care of that needed her attention, but even then she’s a little distracted wondering if the update finished

She would certainly stream once she was able to get into the game to play as she’s just excited that you would be finally coming home to her. She was going to be happy if you had come home once, but if it was possible to unlock your consts then she’d be even more happy. She just loves you a lot and it definitely showed since she had all she needed for you all set and ready to equip and of course you would be placed in her teapot so your character was the first one she saw when she went there

Raiden Shogun:

Even though she tried to not show it to her viewers, she was rather disappointed when you didn’t come home when your banner was first out: she had your weapon prepared, she collected artifacts that she thought would best suit you, she had even started collecting the materials needed for you. Sure it was unfortunate she couldn’t play as you, but that just gave her some extra time to be even more prepared for whenever they would rerun your banner

It was a surprised to hear that your rerun would be much sooner than she anticipated since you were still a fairly new character to the game, but nonetheless she was happy to hear she would get another chance to finally bring you home

She’s another busy person so she’s not even thinking about the maintenance time unless she has a moment of downtime during her work. 

Yae stays teasing Ei about your character because she knows how much Ei adores you (of course Yae had gotten your character during your first banner so she tends to playfully tease her best friend). 

There. Will. Be. Sweets. Of course she’s also a big sucker for desserts herself so what better way to bribe you to come home than to have your favorite food with her while she wished on your banner. She’s someone who doesn’t show much emotion during her streams, but when your splash art appears on her screen she’s going to have a smile on her face and the chat will probably blow up about how pretty her smile is and congratulating her

Ganyu:

Sweet baby had been so sad when she lost pity and failed to bring you home during your first banner but she was already starting to save up for whenever they’d ever re-release your banner again. So when she finally got news of your rerun she was so happy that she wouldn’t have to wait as long as she originally thought she would have to

She already is a very busy person and very hard working so when it comes down to the maintenance time her job makes it easy for her to be distracted during that time frame. Though if she had some free time when she was all done with work for the day she’d probably do some writing 

She would never work on her short fics on stream, she would be too embarrassed if her viewers were watching her while she was writing it, but it makes her happy knowing that they rather enjoy reading the cute stories of her oc and you together. But she is totally cool with talking about story tropes and about her oc, it sometimes helps inspire Ganyu for things she would possibly want to work on in the future

She’s so nervous when the time finally comes though she probably wouldn’t start wishing as soon as your banner is live. She’d probably do the things like commissions and maybe gathering the few things she needed left for you before trying to wish on your banner

She totally would close her eyes during the ten pulls, too nervous to possibly watch the shooting star glow gold. She’s definitely a player who would scream when first seeing the silhouette of your splash art appear on her screen; you finally have graced Ganyu’s day with your presence. You’re going right into the party and she can happily go exploring with you, she can’t help but gush over you and express how happy she is that you’re home
