Just looking down on the ground, he slowly nodded. “I didn’t mean to make myself sound like the victim because I am not one. I dug this hole and I shall lie in it” because that is what he should do. He should lay in the cold and realize that what had transpired was far worse than any other mistake he had made back home. Because this time around he used something against her that should have never been used in the first place. It should have been left alone, kept away from the rest of the world. He hit her where it hurt the most and for that he could never forgive himself. That was why he could never blame her if she didn’t want to forgive him either.
“Do you want me to win you back? You have a choice in this as well, Yennefer” he finally looked at her and sighed softly. “I could never force you to stay. That is just not in my nature” he had always believed that every single person had the choice to stay or to leave. And now when he had hurt her so deeply it was only fair for him to actually back off and let her decide what she wanted.
Geralt loved her and he always would. Wishing for her, yearning for her and begging that she would one day be his had become such a big part of his everyday life. But could he with a clear conscience continue this if the damage was too grave? “You deserve the world, Yennefer. And if you want me to fight then I will. I will fight until my body screams for misery and even then I will push through it. Because you are my wish, my one and only. You always will be no matter what happens”
To be this in love with someone was dangerous. Geralt knew that but he did not care. Because she was everything he wanted and more. She had passion and she had a fire inside her heart that many people feared. But not Geralt. Never.
Making fists at her sides to steady hands that were shaking with rage, Yennefer wanted to scream in frustration. Why was this all so difficult? Why did life have to be so cruel to her after all this time? Was her childhood spent tending to pigs worth more money than her not enough? Were the days trapped in Aretuza with nobody to write to her, the days serving selfish kings, the pain of fighting battles not her own not enough to satisfy whatever cruel bit of the universe that was seemingly after her? Why did Geralt have to be wrapped up in it too?
“Do you think you would still be alive and standing here talking to me if I didn’t want you to? After all this time I thought you’d know me well enough to get that.” Yennefer took a breath and let go of the fists she had made. She wanted somebody to try for her, to want her in the same way she wanted. She had wanted Geralt back so badly, she took drastic measures to be able to have him. It wasn't the fact there had been someone else that made her angry, it was that he had put so little effort into coming back to her after.
There was the talk of the wish again. It got to her more than it should’ve. How did she know what they felt for each other wasn't just some djinn’s spell and not their own natural feelings? He had known her all of five minutes when he made it, and they had been wrapped up around one another ever since. She would dwell on that another day.
“I want—“ a sound of frustration. “I want you to want me like I want you.” It sounded almost pathetic to her as she sighed in something nearing defeat. The tide of anger was slowly receding from her at last.

“Two? Oh wow look at you go” Zelda said and giggled. It was good to know that he did have people that he loved. Because she was pretty biased when it came to love. Without Link in her life he didn’t know how much of Hyrule and Sallow she could take. She would have just shut down and walked around an emotionless robot her entire life. Link had been their saving grace time and time again. It felt like whatever life threw their way, they could handle it alongside their blonde hero.
“Oh hold on you need some salt” Trying to stand up, she let out a low whimper and sat down again. Even though she was slowly getting better and stronger, she could still have moments when her body just begged her to sit still or lay in bed. They really did miss going to work and they did miss being able to do all the things they used to do. But now it felt like their life was put on hold all because of the actions of one man.
Looking down on the floor, they cursed under their breath when they felt tears roll down their cheeks. It was just so unfair. And sometimes it became too much for Zelda to handle because this should have never happened.
Zelda's comment made Sam chuckle. He supposed it was a bit amusing to think of. If you would've told him ten years ago that he would have the pair of them in his life like that, he wouldn't have believed you. He was a lucky hobbit, no doubt about it.
“Right, I do-“ he started, yet broke off when he heard the sound they made. “Zelda.”
In a moment, Samwise had set down everything in his hands and was at their side. He wiped the residual moisture from his hands before taking each of her shoulders in his grasp. The look he gave her was one of deep understanding.
He reached and tore a paper towel off of the roll, quickly handing it to her. He used his other hand to lift her chin as a parent would their child. That's when the realization suddenly hit him, the understanding of exactly why he was so concerned for this woman. For some inexplicable reason, she had made her way into his heart like that. All he could do about it was try and make sure she was alright. He tried for a comforting smile, and hoped it worked. “Deep breaths, that's it. No need for tears now.”

“Earth isn’t so different from the continent. Sure there are new kingdoms to learn about including this ‘Wales’ that we live in, although why anyone would name their kingdom after a large sea animal I don’t know” Jaskier smiled softly he didn’t know how to respond about Geralt, finding out that he was forgotten burned to the bard’s core, It killed him on the inside.
“Not solely yours, no.” Jaskier dipped his head
Yennefer chuckled, having to steady her drink to stop it from spilling. It was one of the first actual laughs she had in a few weeks now. Jaskier had a penchant for making the smallest remarks the funniest (and the alcohol helped a little, too). Shaking her head, a little smile still on her mouth, she sighed.
“Well, damn him! He’s done nothing but cause us strife since his stupid white-haired head popped back up. I say we try and make some happiness of our own. No witchers necessary.” It was a nice sentiment, and one Yennefer would love to hold onto, but when the alcohol cleared from her mind she would know that simply couldn’t work. But just for the night, she would hold onto it. She held her drink out to toast with him on it.
“Say what you will about this sphere-- their liquor far surpasses most of the grog you find on The Continent. I’ll give them that much,” Yennefer said before she took a sip of her fruity cocktail.
wickedpotions:
YENNEFER WAS IMPRESSIVE IN MANY WAYS . if not for oswald , and for the piss-poor bloke that somehow had wandered into yenn’s heart , zsasz wondered if there would’ve been more than admiration in his feelings . But after Oswald - well no one would ever capture the feelings that Oswald brought out of him . But this was quite like being back in Gotham with Liz or Candy or any of the other Zsaszettes . She would’ve fit right in with them , especially the way she could knock back a shot .
He leaned in , listening intently to her vent . It really was a shitty situation , and one where he did not like the other party in the slightest . ❝ I do agree having it out in a public chat is not the smartest move . And I wouldn’t worry about Ciri . I’ve heard the owner of the B&B is quite good at her job , and takes it seriously . She’s safe here . ❞ He took a long drag of his daiquiri . ❝ The sex is a differnet matter , but I certainly know other ways you can get your rocks off if that’s what you need . There’s plenty of available parties in town . ❞
Yennefer gave a little shrug, mouth in a taut line before taking a sip of her drink. There was no changing the past, and she had to accept what had happened. Undoubtedly, she was more than peeved at what Geralt had done, but she had grown tired of scratching that wound.
“I know Ciri is more than alright on her own. She has always been keen to show that much, and I can't deny after everything she’s been through that she's incapable, but no matter how nice they are at the B&B, she’s not where she belongs. That girl’s stubbornness is killer. My only real job in this place is to make sure she’s alright– something I can do much better when she’s around. She doesn’t understand what it's like to be an adult yet, and… oh it's not worth working myself up over again. I think you know what I mean, though.” After taking a good drink from the little black straw in her glass, she narrowed her eyes at him. “You mean to tell me the entire time I’ve been here there's been orgies going on? I’m only just hearing about this now?”
Yennefer pulled a look that gave the impression of a sad puppy. That would have been good to know when she was brimming with boredom and frustration a few months ago.

Listening to Sam talk about his job, Zelda smiled to herself. Sometimes they didn’t know how to cope with the fact that here in Sallow they were surrounded with people that cared for her and loved her. Back home in Hyrule she had to take care of herself, protect herself and be there for herself. That was until they met Link and everything just changed for the better.
This town had not only given her a sense of belonging but also given her the greatest gift of all; Link. Being able to be with him and actually be his was everything to Zelda. It had been a dream for so many years but now it was reality. Now they could kiss his lips and hold his hand, tell him that she loved him and sleep in his arms.
They were finally content. “Well I am happy that you have someone at work willing to help you. You deserve a helping hand”

As Sam continued his work with the vegetables, he nodded a soft smile to them. Maybe it wasn’t perfectly ideal to be in this town alone, but he was making do. The Shire would always be his true home, but Sallow Hills would do. He would make it so.
“Thank you Zelda,” he hummed, careful not to catch his fingers under the knife. “It's nice to have some more time to myself, even if there's nobody to share it with.” He said it, still with a little smile on his face, but it did make his chest ache a little to know there was no Frodo or Rosie here to share his time with. He missed them greatly, though he talked about them little. It hurt too much to stir up those feelings.
Changing the subject, he went on, “You know, I remembered something last night that I hadn't been able to the day before.”
endlxssnights:
“Kotek,” She repeated. The little cat’s name seemed to break the spell, Ciri bending down to scratch behind his ears. She loved him already, the cat seeming to return the love tenfold. “Hi Kotek, I’m Ciri.”
Yennefer always seemed to know what Ciri needed, and the solution to it, before she had even pinned down the actual problem. She loved her mother, but sometimes it scared her, how in tune she was. Was it a mage thing? Or was it just something uniquely Yennefer?
“Grandmother didn’t let me have animals.” Ciri’s voice was soft, as if speaking too loud would cause Kotek to run. “We’d lose them too easily. Kelpie was my first one.”
And now Kotek.
Immensely glad that Ciri liked the newest addition to their flat, Yennefer watched the pair interact with a genuine smile on her lips. She idly wondered what a younger version of herself would think about the display before her, but she was quickly brought back to reality when Ciri spoke.
“I’m happy you have a second, then. And I’m glad he’s made you happy. He seems to like the place well enough.” Yennefer held an arm open for a hug, not wanting to impose the affection if Ciri wasn’t in the mood for it. She knew her daughter better than anyone else (bar Geralt of course), and could recognize when she was having a rough time easily enough. Try as she might, Ciri had never been good at hiding things from her.
“One reason to be happy you haven’t undergone the Mutations– cats can’t stand the presence of Witchers. I can’t speak for those of this sphere’s magickal origin, but back home… the look you’re giving me tells me you already knew that,” she spoke in the gentle and kind tone that was reserved only for Ciri. She should’ve known better than to try and lecture the girl tied for ‘most stubborn witcher in existence’ on something she had already gone over, no matter how long ago that was. A smile was still dancing on her lips. “Nevermind that. You’ve met the events of my day. How was yours, daughter?”

Jaskier chuckled, “Judging on how we met, I thought I’d be dead by now and it is quite surprising how that has turned around. Quite recently, I might add and honestly it’s so much easier to get along with you when i’m drunk”. The bard picks up his lute and starts to pick the strings gently and with precision, although fumbling on a couple of notes as the spirits he’s been drinking go to his head. “Fuck, this shit used to be easy”
Nodding in amused agreement, the mage lifted her cup a bit in a silent toast to the sentiment, before she took a little drink. “What can I say, bard? I’m full of surprises.”
She watched him play with the instrument, snorting a little laugh each time he messed up the notes. She knew he was talented at it, even if she would never tell him as much. “So much for being a professional. Or maybe you simply cant handle your liquor.” She was teasing, but she wasn’t really one to talk as she could barely handle it herself. “Are you going to make everyone suffer through another tune, or are you feeling merciful on my ears?”
