If you’re living in the US and reading this right now, I need you to know that if republicans take over office this next election, human rights are as good as dead.

The Heritage Foundation, a major Republican think tank, has published a 1,000 page document detailing how they want conservatives to take over the government and what they think should be done as soon as they’re in office. It is, in a nutshell, a call for fascism.

If you’re trans, know that one of the things it includes is basically banning trans people from having our existence acknowledged and it’s worded in a way where you could reasonably understand it to mean that being trans and going out in public is enough to get you put in jail for exposing minors to porn.

If you’re an immigrant, sanctuary cities are also going to be dead under this plan as district attorneys who don’t enforce the federal laws they plan to implement will be charged with crimes as well and they’re banking on them not being willing to pay the fines they’d be charged with in order to protect you.

If you care about climate change and safety regulations, kiss the regulations goodbye and prepare to watch the environment slowly get destroyed.

i love whenever i mention my cat in tags and i get a “prev wait ur cats name is LINCOLN LOG ??” it fills me with joy. for the lincoln log enjoyers out there this is what she looks like (she’s the silliest guy imaginable)

online queer spaces (aka tik tok) can be so fucking dumb sometimes. like, in real life 20 year old and 40 year old dykes are making out at the bar and it’s fine. trans men and trans masc people will go to lesbian bars and it will be normal and acceptable to see them there. lesbians will fuck trans people (trans masc and femme people) and the world won’t end. someone at the gay bar will be wearing kink gear and no one will bat an eye. dykes will have moustaches and stubble and will be wearing a labrys and people are gonna fuck who they want and not fuck who they don’t want and that’s literally ok. being a part of a community means you will meet people who are different and who don’t fit your strict fucking rules of what is “acceptable” and what isn’t. and i feel badly for people who don’t understand what it’s like to live in a real-life community. let queer people be messy and confusing, no one in the real world cares.

ngl i see wasps as friend shaped. little guys. i see one and go “ooh! a wasp! hii!!” and then i dont bother them and it leaves me alone while my friends are all freaking out 💀

Do you have any tips/fun facts that could help me be less wary around wasps? They come around our yard a lot, and I'm always so afraid to cross their path or get in their way at all for fear of being stung 😓

I'd say being overcautious is not warranted in most cases.

Firstly, though, it depends on the type of wasps you're seeing. Not all wasps sting. Most wasps are solitary and will almost never sting unless trapped against your skin. Some entire species and all males aren't even capable of stinging. And of the ones who do sting (mostly social wasps like yellowjackets, hornets, and paper wasps), some are more aggressive than others, but as a general rule, they're only aggressive when they're defending themselves or their nest.

So how concerned you should be is situational. If you're just in your backyard and there isn't a nest there, it's very unlikely they'll do anything if you just ignore them. Most likely they're looking for nectar to feed on themselves or food to bring back to their nest for their larvae, and they have no reason to attack you.

I would say find out which species you'd find in your area. Learn how to identify them and which ones can and can't sting or are the most likely to sting.

In my experience, fear is fueled by the unknown, and learning about something you're afraid of almost always makes it much less scary.

Also - most wasp stings don't hurt that much! Assuming you're not very allergic, it does hurt, but not horrifically, and the pain doesn't last particularly long.
