i dont see why i cant start a trend, so here goes. lets try to build back our attention spans. lets try to focus on just one thing for as long as possible. lets not watch those "asmr for people with adhd" videos where they fuck up adhd folks even worse. lets resist the urge to reach for our phones when watching a movie. lets read the articles we reblog, even when theyre boring. i know its hard, i have adhd too, but its worth it. i also know that this hard work doesnt always seem super impressive to other people, so id love for yall to tell me in the tags or replies if youve done something, no matter how small, for your attention span. you deserve to feel like youve taken back some of what social media has ripped from you
As a Brazilian person, I feel it is my duty to occasionally bring to you wack news coming from my country. Lucky for me, about 2-3 weeks ago on August 13th, a man in Belo Horizonte stopped a robbery at his building by charging at the thieves with a katana. He has been dubbed โthe samurai of Belo Horizonteโ.
Hereโs some real videos of the incident:
Hereโs part of a news report on the incident from CNN Brazil. I did my best to translate it to English:
A man used a katana, a traditional sword used by samurais in Japan, to chase down a group of suspects who were attempting to steal bicycles from a garage in a condominium in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais (a state in Brazil).
Alisson Dโjean, who became known as the โSamurai of BHโ [Belo Horizonte] went viral when the images won over social networks on Friday the 25th. The robbery attempt, however, occurred on August 13th.
In an interview exclusive to CNN, Alisson says it was his mother who first noticed the robbery, after hearing noises of someone breaking into the garage doors.
The โsamurai,โ who is a physiotherapist, reported the experience on his Instagram stories, and said he decided to act on his own accord after the military police, according to him, did nothing after three previous break-ins to the condominium [by the same suspects].
After checking the security cameras, the [fourth] invasion was confirmed. The samurai put on some clothes, grabbed the katana, and ran to the elevator, where he met up with the building manager [who was checking the security camera footage on his phone].
โI grabbed this samurai sword, a handmade katana, a weapon of war, really, because I didnโt know what I was walking into, I didnโt know how many [invaders], I didnโt know what kind of weapons they had,โ reports the physiotherapist, who says he began using this type of sword almost 30 years ago.
According to Alisson, the decision was taken with the sole intention of protecting himself, his family, and the other building residents. โAt no point was I concerned with the bicyles. I donโt even own a bicycle,โ he says.
In the images, itโs possible to see Alisson and the building manager in the elevator. After getting out [of the elevator], the โsamuraiโ begins running after the suspects, who, scared, ditch the bicycles and flee. No one was injured. In the days following this incident, no other break-in attempts were reported.

Killua and Gon mimic each other a lot.
On the start of the fourth phase of the hunter exam, while in the boat, they sit like this:
and by the end of their talk, Killua mimics Gon:
They half mimic each other in heaven's arena too, probably subconsciously (these two panels are on the same page)
They lay down in the same pose on the campfire chap, so i can't tell who mimicked who.
And killua has his usual 'cool kid' pose when he sits up. His default way to sit.
but he mimics Gon every time he changes poses.
this one is the funniest to me cause they sit so differently when they are a little away from each other/not paying much attention to each other
but when they are side by side, or right in front of each other BAM
And I am not sure is if this has any meaning, but I do find it interesting that when Gon is overwhelmed, frustrated, or defeated he usually sits with both knees up and his arms crossed.
But while waiting for Pitou to finish healing Komugi, he mimics Killua's mannerisms
Anyway, if you know more moments of them mimicking each other please share! It brings me life.
