"सति स्त्री के लक्षण" स्त्री सो जो पतिव्रत धर्म धरै, निज पति सेवत जोय।। अन्य पुरूष सब जगत में पिता भ्रात सुत होय।। अपने पति की आज्ञा में रहै, निज तन मन से लाग।। पिया विपरीत न कछु करै, ता त्रिया को बड़ भाग।। भावार्थ:- सती स्त्री उसको कहते हैं जो अपने पति से लगाव रखे। अपने पति के अतिरिक्त संसार के अन्य पुरूषों को आयु अनुसार पिता, भाई तथा पुत्र के भाव से देखे यानि बरते। अपने पति की आज्ञा में रहे। मन-तन से सेवा करे, कोई कार्य पति के विपरीत न करे।
