"Covens of October" MARKHYUCK FANTASY AU
Prologue
Two rival families have long lived in the Bokor Forest, in the mysterious and boring town of Solumville: the Lumen and the Tenebris.
For hundreds of years, their ancestors have lived in an environment of rivalry, distrust and hatred, thanks to their different ways of obtaining magic.
On one side, the Tenebris family, a thousand-year-old family of witches and warlocks who obtain their powers thanks to their devotion to Satan and other evil forces. The first generations used to dedicate themselves to the dark arts, although today they continue to obtain their powers from it, they no longer use it in the same way as before. And although they do not dedicate themselves to doing evil, witches and warlocks (especially of this family) have always had a bad reputation in the Hidden World due to how their first ancestors obtained their powers and they have always been judged and discriminated against, making them be resentful and disgusted towards the rest of the Hidden community.
On the other side, the Lumen family of talented wizards and sorcerers. Wizards and sorcerers had always been respected and admired in the community, as they were considered the purest beings in the Hidden World. Born from the flashes of the brightest light hundreds of years ago, they have always been in a place of privilege, except for the Lumen. Some years ago, when her children were still very young, a scandal broke out when it was discovered that Evanora Lumen's father had married a witch. Everyone in the Hidden World believed that Evanora was half witch and half sorcerer, a hybrid, an abomination. But after several investigations this could not be proven and the Lumen family has had a bad reputation ever since.
Both families reside in the Bokor forest where, despite everything, they remain faithful to the most important rule of their community: to keep the Hidden World for what it is; a hidden and secret world. Community anonymity is and has always been the most important law to keep all magical creatures in the rest of the human world safe, and any attempt to violate this law was severely punished, even with death.
But there were certain people who believed that any creature that is out of the ordinary was a threat to the world, that they should be destroyed: the Venandis.
The Venandis were a group of hunters of magical creatures that chased anyone in the community, captured them, and almost always killed them. Multiple times they tried to take this world out of anonymity until the leader of the Venandis, Gamiro Salante, died in an attack years ago and since then it is believed that, without their leader, the group of hunters disbanded as they were never seen again, until recently.
Now the Lumen and Tenebris, who are not only natural rivals but also have years of family secrets and hatred, must put aside their differences to make way for teamwork (and perhaps love) in order to save their families and the Hidden World of a threat that stalks them all equally.

The title. Crow-tit? Try hard? Silver Spoon? Whichever one you use, you’re already intrigued. It’s not your typical title and it’s definitely not your typical song.
That beat. As soon as it starts playing, you get hyped the f*ck up and you’re ready to take on whatever the hell is in your way
Suga’s rap. The way he matter-of-factly states that his legs are a million dollars? His deceivingly conversational tone kills me every time I hear it.
That chorus. THAT CHORUS. THAT CHORUS!!!! Taehyung, Jin, and Jimin transform their voices into something you would completely not expect, something you’re not used to hearing from the vocal line and holy shit it’s fucking amazing. They show off their capabilities and their flexibility with their voices. That wild ass chorus that demands you sing along is my favorite part.
Jhope being the first in line with his rap…. comE ON. THe whooping in the background and listening to his unique rapping voice/style sets the entire tone of the song. He also closes out the song and I love the way he goes so hard.
Rapmon and the way he ends every line of his part with those english words that you just can’t help but sing along with.
And of course. The part that has gotten everyone’s attention: Jungkook’s incredible solo. The English is on point, the whispered soft tone is on point, the crazy ass screaming of “YOU MU’ BE KIDDING ME” is on point. Everyone, including me, has gone wild over that part and over Jungkook rapping, it’s outta this world.
The entire rebellious, confident, fierce tone of the entire song is amazing. Pair that with the words that are sung - words that every single individual from our generation can identify with, words about dealing with adult expectations, the guilt and the stress and the pressure of trying to grow up in a society that’s very hard to survive in - and you have yourself a masterpiece of a song that’s savage, strong, and straight up in your face.
Every time it comes on I imagine all of the members getting hyped up, spitting into their mics, jumping up and down and pouring their hearts out during its performance. I can literally see every single one of their intense faces going so hard and that fills me with this feeling that I just can’t exactly describe… man I fucking love that song.
We’re set to launch the Mars 2020 Perseverance rover mission from Cape Canaveral, Florida, on July 30. The rover is loaded with scientific instruments and advanced technology, making it the largest, heaviest and most sophisticated vehicle ever sent to the Red Planet.
What is Perseverance’s mission and what will it do on Mars? Here are seven things to know:
Not only does it have to launch during a pandemic and land on a treacherous planet, it has to carry out its science goals:
Searching for signs of past microbial life
Mapping out the planet’s geology and climate
Collecting rock and other samples for future return to Earth
Paving the way for human exploration
We chose the name Perseverance from among the 28,000 essays submitted during the “Name the Rover” contest. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the months leading up to the launch in particular have required creative problem solving, teamwork and determination.
In 1997, our first Mars rover – Sojourner – showed that a robot could rove on the Red Planet. Spirit and Opportunity, which both landed in 2004, found evidence that Mars once had water before becoming a frozen desert.
Curiosity found evidence that Mars’ Gale Crater was home to a lake billions of years ago and that there was an environment that may have sustained microbial life. Perseverance aims to answer the age-old question – are there any signs that life once existed on Mars?
The rover will land in Jezero Crater, a 28-mile wide basin north of the Martian equator. A space rock hit the surface long ago, creating the large hole. Between 3 and 4 billion years ago, a river flowed into a body of water in Jezero the size of Lake Tahoe.
Mars orbiters have collected images and other data about Jezero Crater from about 200 miles above, but finding signs of past life will need much closer inspection. A rover like Perseverance can look for those signs that may be related to ancient life and analyze the context in which they were found to see if the origins were biological.
This is the first rover to bring a sample-gathering system to Mars that will package promising samples of rocks and other materials for future return to Earth. NASA and ESA are working on the Mars Sample Return campaign, so we can analyze the rocks and sediment with tools too large and complex to send to space.
Two packages – one that helps the rover autonomously avoid hazards during landing (TRN) and another that gathers crucial data during the trip through Mars’ atmosphere (MEDLI2) – will help future human missions land safely and with larger payloads on other worlds.
There are two instruments that will specifically help astronauts on the Red Planet. One (MEDA) will provide key information about the planet’s weather, climate and dust activity, while a technology demonstration (MOXIE) aims to extract oxygen from Mars’ mostly carbon-dioxide atmosphere.
Perseverance and other parts of the Mars 2020 spacecraft feature 23 cameras, which is more than any other interplanetary mission in history. Raw images from the camera are set to be released on the mission website.
There are also three silicon chips with the names of nearly 11 million people who signed up to send their names to Mars.
And you can continue to follow the mission on Twitter and Facebook.
