ES|| Me da la sensación que el verano se ha acabado en un abrir y cerrar de ojos. Un día iba con camiseta de tirantes y al otro con un jersey! Aunque aún hay días, o mejor dicho momentos, que aun hace un calor aplastante, el frío se esta abriendo camino súper rápidamente. Parece que el otoño y la primavera vayan difuminándose y solo sepamos en que época del año estamos por las lluvias y los días acortándose. Por una parte me da pena que se acaben los días de tomar el sol (o como me gusta decir a mi “hacer la fotosíntesis”), los colores brillantes de la naturaleza, los días increíblemente largos, las fresas, la sandia, el melón y todos las maravillosas frutas de verano y los pantalones cortos, pero, por otro lado, ya viene el tiempo de dormir con el nórdico, cosa que me encanta! Y para despedir los días largos de sol y el calor un trocito de una ilustración antigua con aires muy veraniegos!🍉 EN|| I get the feeling that summer has gone by in the blink of an eye. One day I was wearing a tank top and the other a sweater! Although there’re days, or rather moments, when it’s still overwhelmingly hot, the cold is making its way super quickly. It seems autumn and spring are fading away and we only know what time of year we are due to the rains and the days getting shorter. On one hand, I’m sorry that the days of sunbathing (or as I like to say “to photosynthesize”), the bright colors of nature, the incredibly long days, strawberries, watermelons, melons and all the wonderful summer fruits and shorts are over, but on the other hand, it's getting so much closer the time to sleep with the duvet, which I absolutely love! And to say goodbye to long sunny days, a piece of an old illustration with a very summery atmosphere!🍉

ESP || El otro día fui a ver un nido de cigüeñas, son unos pájaros tan preciosos y elegantes! En esta “nueva normalidad” me calma muchísimo ver los animales seguir con su vida, volar libres, cuidar de los suyos Las cigüeñas habitan en el norte de África, Europa y algunas regiones de Asia central y oriental. Aunque siempre han sido una especie migratoria, se ha incrementado notablemente el número de aves sedentarias y muchas de las aves que aún migran han acortado las distancias alimentándose principalmente en vertederos y arrozales. Durante años la población de esta hermosa especie ha fluctuado bastante; algunas de sus amenazas más importantes son: episodios de sequia, perdidas de hábitats de alimentación, transformaciones agrarias, uso de pesticidas generalizado, caza ilegal, choques contra tendidos eléctricos, eliminación de nidos… Detalle de la ilustración “viajar leyendo” repleta de flores de todos colores, como el edelweiss, blanca como la nieve donde vive. ENG || The other day I went to see a stork nest, they’re such beautiful animals! In this "new normality" it calms me to see the animals go on with their lives, taking care of their own. Storks are a bird that lives in North Africa, Europe and some regions of Central and East Asia. Although they’ve always been a migratory species, the number of sedentary birds has increased significantly, and many of the birds that still migrate have shortened their distances significantly feeding mainly on dumps and rice fields. For years the population of this species has fluctuated quite a bit; some of its most important threats are: drought episodes, loss of feeding habitats, agrarian transformations, widespread use of pesticides, illegal hunting, collisions with power lines, the elimination of nests... Summer☀️ has many good things, but there’s one that surely no one misses: the rise of mosquitoes 🦟 with their threatening noise at night and their sneaky bites. So far this summer I’ve been lucky and I haven’t had the kind of giant sting that swells, turns red and hot and stings a lot, but other years I have not had the same luck and researching the plants, their properties and different natural remedies, I discovered this natural poultice for these occasions.🌱 

The recipe is very easy, you just need to crush and mix the following ingredients (better if they’re organically grown!):

🔹Oat flakes crushed or powder oat, since oat is very effective against skin inflammation. 🔹Chamomile infusion because chamomile has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. 🔹Fresh basil, which contains eugenol, a compound that helps fight itching and pain. 🔹Fresh rosemary, in addition to having similar properties to basil, is a natural antiseptic.

Once the mixture is made, we just have to put it to cool in the fridge so it can give us the cold effect that will also help with the swelling and it’ll be ready to apply to the affected area.

If you don’t see any improvement, or it looks bad or you’ve an allergic reaction go quickly to the doctor!

ES|| Como apasionada de los dragones no podía dejar pasar la oportunidad de celebrar el inicio del año nuevo lunar, que este año es el del dragón, y ya de paso, aprovecho para despedirme del año que dejamos atrás, el del conejo!

Me parece super curioso la diversidad de dragones que existen en los diferentes imaginarios y culturas alrededor del mundo. De todos los colores (verdes, rojos, turquesa), formas (de serpiente, de lagarto, como una montaña o como un rio), elementos (fuego, agua, tierra) y caracteres (bondadosos como los de varias mitologías asiáticas o malos como en las leyendas occidentales). A mi personalmente me encantan los dragones bondadosos ligados a la naturaleza, por este motivo me imagino siempre al dragón de Sant Jordi como un jardinero que cultiva rosas y no como un ser despiadado que solo de su sangre brota la vida.

EN|| As a dragon enthusiast, I couldn't miss the opportunity to celebrate the beginning of this lunar new year, the year of the dragon. And, in the way, say goodbye to the year we leave behind, the year of the rabbit!

I find it super intriguing the diversity of dragons that exist in different imaginaries and cultures all around the world. We can find dragons of all colors (green, red, turquoise), shapes (like a snake, a lizard, a mountain or a river), elements (fire, water, earth) and natures/ mind set (kind-hearted like those in various Asian mythologies or bad like in Western legends). I personally love kind dragons linked to nature and farming, for this reason I always imagine the Sant Jordi dragon as a gardener who grows roses and not as a ruthless being that only from its blood does life thrive.

In this blue-toned postcard you can see a baby toucan accompanied by funny bees and a curious butterfly between a bunch of branches and leaves.🐝 I recently saw for the first time a video of some adorable baby toucans and I couldn't resist drawing them, with those giant blue eyes! I love discovering new animals such as Goodfellow's Tree-Kangaroos, Atelopus barbotine, Greater Glider, Spotted Skunk, Marbled Polecat, Red cheeked wattle eye, Colugos, Quoll, Siberian Flying Squirrel and many others. I can spend hours looking for endangered animals on the web or watching videos of wild animals!! En esta postal de tonos azules podéis ver un bebé tucán acompañado de divertidas abejas y una curiosa mariposa. Hace poco vi por primera vez un video de unos adorables bebes de tucán y no pude resistirme a dibujarlos, con esos ojos gigantes y azules!🐝 Me encanta descubrir nuevos animales, como los canguros arborícolas de Goodfellow, el petauro gigante, la mofeta moteada, el turón jaspeado, el batiis carunculado de Blisset, la atelopus barbotini, el colugo, el quoll, la ardilla voladora siberiana y muchos otros. Puedo pasarme horas buscando animales en peligro de extinción o mirando videos de animales salvajes!!

ES|| Tengo la ilustración de un nuevo animalito, amante de las plantas, en proceso. Solo le queda un poquito más de color y los detalles finales! Se trata de una preciosa greyhound adoptada que es más feliz que una perdiz si la dejas subir a un sofá. Su nombre le va como anillo al dedo, se llama “Haizea”, viento en euskera. Qué bonito es poder dar una segunda vida a un animal en apuros. Si estáis pensando en compartir vuestra vida con un animalito no lo compréis, recordad que hay muchas asociaciones y protectoras como @sosgalgos @galgos112oficial @galgo.espanol.espana @galgosdelsol , que luchan por los derechos de los animales, donde podéis adoptar. Los animales no son un negocio, un objeto o un capricho que comprar y, cuando ya no nos satisface como querríamos, tirarlo o abandonarlo. Remember there’re many associations like @greyhoundrescue who fight for the animals rights, and where you can adopt a lot of different animals. Animals are not a business, an object or a whim to buy and, when it no longer satisfies us as we would like, throw it away or abandon it. They’re a living being, a friend and a possible new family member!

ES|| Mandad mucho amor a vuestros seres queridos todos los días, sea San Valentín o no!! A veces suelo pensar que no nos decimos suficiente lo mucho que nos apreciamos los unos a los otros. Espero que disfrutéis mucho el día de los enamorados y el fin de semana!!✨ He hecho esta “animación” rápida, un poco brusca, de la conejita cartera que hice el año pasado para San Valentín. Una señora conejo que va cargada de mensajitos de amor, rápida, sin miedo, por un camino un poco bacheado pero decidida a llevar cada carta a su destinatario correspondiente! ♥️🐰

My art vs artist 2024. This year I have no photo in the center (you all must know I’m quite camera-shy) but a cute self-portrait. I was always a little scared of drawing humans and especially myself, but, for me, this year I think it has been the year of illustrator and self-portraits.
