You can have Disability Pride without loving being disabled. You can love your community and everything it means and stands for without loving being disabled. Being disabled is hard and you're valid even if you hate being disabled. You can love and hate being disabled at the same time too.

I know alastor is the token character everybody makes fun of because he had that one awkward render but i actually love him as a character 😭

He looks really good in the show, the render everybody redrew other characters in made him look awkward, and as a character designer and artist i know why.

90% of it is the eyes. Their placement is awkward, and you cannot read him at all based on the expression. I know Alastor always smiles, but in the show you can tell what he feels based on his eyes. Here, you can’t. it’s almost cross eyed. Angel’s original render also has this issue.

However,

THIS ONE IS SO MUCH BETTER. The pose feels more authentic, like something he’d actually do in the show. He looks confident and clever, almost judgemental. Im so glad they updated all the renders.

people, especially in American society are way too comfortable telling marginalized people who also happen to be disabled that they are essentially useless because they cannot hold a "real job" especially if they get their funds from online communities.

if anything I think it's a blessing that me and my queer and disabled friends get crowdfunding online through the community because not only is it hard to get a job with a marginalized status especially in trump America but like, being disabled does the disabling.

I think some of you forgot that autistic people sometimes act strange and say things that are poorly worded and speak with incorrect tone and misunderstand or miss social cues because they are autistic

I hate the perception that visibly or invisibly disabled people have it easier or harder. BOTH SUCK. Both suck because of shitty ableist assholes. Take it from someone who is both, depending on the day. Both are terrible! Neither has any real advantages! I promise you! The only privileges that any disabled people have over other disabled people is lack of quality medical care vs. having access to it and some other thing that I forgot because of severe brain fog but will update this with when I remember! Your enemy is not other disabled people unless they are ableists! Ableists are the problem! They hate us and question us and don't think we deserve to live! They! Are! The! Problem! Not! Each!
