In season 2, I would love an episode where someone steals Edwin's notebook and is using it to do something evil and they have a running gag where Crystal and Charles (and Niko) are like "To do this, they would need to know the correct way to do X ritual and no one knows how to do that" and then it cuts to a flashback of Edwin and Charles on a case where Charles is nearly always in the process of dealing with some sort of threat or mess and Edwin is making notes of exactly the thing the evil person needs to know.

omg you liked Louis and Mary too? Because it’s such a rare thing - they had THE CHEMISTRY, and I will continue saying he was willing to do more for Mary than Francis did, was willing to compromise to her cause. I’m so mad how they painted Louis as the bad guy at the end as if Francis didn’t fuck it up over and over again.

He just did what Mary wanted him to do, so I felt like the way they ended their relationship was so stupid and they did it only to have Francis die like early the next season w Mary crying, like, give me break. Francis character should’ve died way early because the real Francis didn’t even last that long, he lasted less than a year as a king.

Augh I LOVED THEM !!!!! I have been a fan of Sean Teale for years and I was stoked he was on reign, and they had BONKERS chemistry! Honestly ik it wasn’t how it went historically but they stopped following history closely like... in the pilot lol. Like ik Frary was her epic love but Louis should have been her endgame and this is the hill I will die on he did nothing but love her.

They could have had him come back after Francis died too!!! Like!! Come on!!!

This has happened on multiple occasions, and he feels no need to bring it up to Edwin

charles and edwins disguises look so married and now I can't stop thinking about some random guy trying to connect with charles in his disguise over 'I hate my wife' jokes and charles goig on a wild tangent about how much he loves his wife and how she's his favorite person in the world and getting really protective because internally he's like: that's not his wife that's his best friend but if he WAS his wife he would love him so much

and then he would simply not get the implications of that and go about his day like "wife successfully defended, friendship successfully friended, job officially jobbed 😃👍🏻"

It always seems like a what goes around come around situation

I think it’s so interesting that Van was so mad at Shauna for not letting them grieve Mari, when she did the same thing to Travis when it came down to Javi. Van not only watched Javi die and proclaimed the “wilderness chose him”, but helped the girls carry him back and did not let Travis grieve him by telling him she was not ashamed of watching Javi die and that he had to eat him so the others could aswell.

Like Shauna does not care about their feelings for Mari, Van did not care about his hurt and pain of losing his younger brother, his need to understand his loss or his refusal to consume him.

It’s just interesting how it all comes back around to those girls one way or another.

I’m gonna talk about Dead Boy Detectives for a second, specifically Charles and Edwin’s deaths.

Edwin died in a basement and Charles in an attic, and Edwin went to Hell and Charles was presumably meant to go to Heaven. Edwin died by fire (demons from Hell) and Charles died by ice (hypothermia). Edwin was targeted for his queerness and Charles for the color of his skin, the country his mother came from. Edwin never seemed to get along with the boys who would kill him but Charles called his murderers friends until they turned on him. Edwin died by supernatural means while Charles died by run of the mill racist teenagers. They died more than 7 decades apart.

When you look at the details there are so many differences but the story is still the exact fucking same. Two boys who died at the hands of a group of their classmates who decided that they did not fit with the rest of them and therefore must pay the price. Two boys who died on the same grounds of the same school, whose deaths were brushed aside and covered up by people who held the same titles. More than 70 years apart and not a single thing has changed, Charles’ death didn’t get any more attention than Edwin’s, because more than 70 years later the same fucking story happened again.

Edwin’s death didn’t change a damn thing, and it could happen again now because Charles’ death didn’t change a damn thing either. And then the ghosts of two 16 year olds decided that if the adults, if the living weren’t going to change anything then they fucking would. If the living would not grant them justice and would not grant them change, then they fucking would.

Because there was a difference, in the end. Edwin was murdered, and so was Charles, but while Edwin died scared and alone Charles didn’t. Edwin died in a cold, dark basement, but Charles died in warm light of a lantern, even if that warmth wasn’t enough to save him. Edwin died to the sounds of his own screams, his own voice pleading for mercy that would not come, but Charles drifted off to sleep to the sound of a kind boy reading him a book.

The living won’t change. The story could and will keep on repeating because the living will not make sure it doesn’t. The living are messy. But the dead, for all the ways they will never change, will never get any older, they can change the story, at least a bit. Charles and Edwin can’t make sure that no other boy dies at that school, but if the story repeats itself yet again they can make sure the victim is at peace. They can solve the murders and find the lost items and release the spirits who are trapped. The living won’t help the dead, but they can help each other.

So they call themselves the Dead Boy Detectives, form an agency and get an office and help who they can, because they didn’t matter to the living, and many of their clients don’t either. But they matter to the dead.

Their clients matter. And Charles and Edwin matter too.

Hey, what if Charles was struck with a love potion, which makes you fall in love with the first person you see. And guess who Charles is standing right in front of and looking at in that moment? Well, Edwin, of course.

The whole gang scrambles to get back into the office to try to figure it out (and Edwin is freaking out, he has to find a counterspell immediately because he's not going to cope well with Charles acting as if he's in love with him only for that to end along with the spell).

Crystal and Niko are asking Charles questions about how he feels and if anything has changed, but he claims he's fine and that the potion must have been a fake or something.

Because he's supposed to be in love with his best mate now, but nothing really changed in how he feels about him.

Interesting, isn't it?
