John & Paul first met at a “fête” - or so I’ve read a million times but I’m always like, “what is a fête??” I assumed it was pronounced “Fet” rhyming with Jet. But I just googled and it’s pronounced like “Fate.” “Fate” like it was “Fate” that Paul & John found each other this enormous world. Much to think about..
Made my favourite scene from Help! (1965) into a print. The original pencil drawing was done during lockdown and I must have been thinking that particular luxury midcentury surrealistic loft would not be too bad to be stuck in.

Ok he’s soooooo right. Except this already happened, their names are John Lennon & Paul McCartney, and their doomed situationship is why we have some of the best music ever written 🤣

"Paul needs an audience, but John doesn't. John is very lazy, unlike Paul. Without Paul he would often give up. John writes for his own amusement... Paul likes a public. Paul can produce easy, sweet music... John's music is much bumpier and more aggressive... In a way it comes out of their personalities. As people, long before they started writing songs, John was always the rough, aggressive one and Paul the sweeter and the smoother."
