Halloween š
So Iāve been thinking Iāll probably do sharpie tatts again for my MCR show next week, and itās a little soon yet to be drawing the ones Iāll actually have on for the show, but itās gotten me yearning to draw on myself again, and with all the excitement about Badflower tonight (or last night now Iām posting it, but they open again tonight too), I thought, what if I just... gave myself a Badflower sharpie tattoo. For funsies?
So if youāre unfamiliar with their band logo, it looks like this:
So I started by attempting to draw their signature flower on my wrist. I decided to do it in blue rather than black just because I prefer to have some color in my sharpie tatts, even if theyāre monochrome. It didnāt exactly turn out super accurately, but, well... the bandās not called Goodflower now are they? Lol. Then it just worked out that I put their name underneath rather than attempting to go on top of the flower, which wouldāve required more planning and less coloring in the center. So then it looked like this:
but I wanted to do a little bit more, and incorporate some lyrics into it too. I started looking through some of the lyrics of my favorite Badflower songs, at which point I remembered, oh yeah, a lot of these are really quite grim, lol; I did come up with a few potential selections, but none of them were Vibing just right. But then I was looking at 30 and I sawĀ āso raise up your glasses to going out of fashion!ā and it just clicked into place. I mean, one of the great things about doing sharpie tatts instead of real permanent tattoos is that the things one draws on donāt have to be your only all-time favorite absolute best picks from all possible options; I considered going through more options after that, but I felt good about that line, so I went ahead and added it in.Ā
It felt energizing and defiant, full of weird-and-proud energy; it also seemed a bit appropriate after the nightās twitter dramas. Of course, I have trouble planning spacing and Iām just freehanding this (all the more reason Iām glad this isnāt aĀ ārealā tattoo), so theĀ āto going out of fashionā part wound up on two lines, and my script is kind of funky and hard to read in places, but you know, itās probably not going to last a full week, and I like it. Actually I fell asleep while writing this earlier and I just woke up at like 5:30 and looked at my arm and wentĀ āwhat the-- oh yeah I did do that,ā but this is another good thing about sharpie tattoos, that itās okay when they just sort of appear on your arm in the morning, lol. The text in a circle around the roughly circular logo also reminds me of the Red Hot Chili Peppers logo, come to think of it, but thatās not a bad thing I suppose. Anyways, I am really quite fond of it, so I wanted to go ahead and show off my pics while itās fresh.Ā āRaise up your glasses to going out of fashionā indeed! I love Badflower, I love their music, itās 6am now and I want to get back to sleep and this post is probably messy and in need of editing, but Iām going to go ahead and post about my funky little Badflower tattoo now because itās weird and I like it.Ā
I love it, itās like theyāre all Harry Potter newspapers! Actually I bet the editors of the Gotham Gazette and the Daily Prophet would get along fairly well. Well, the Gotham Gazette is probably a bit more accurate, but clearly they still love some sensationalism. Anyways, this is some very clever editing.Ā

Consider: Spike, Buffy, and Angel having a romantic picnic by the beach at night and stargazing together. They may not be able to go picnicking in the daylight, but the night has charms of its own.
Also consider Angel and Spike getting competitive over who can name more constellations and who tells the stories that go with them better, haha :)Ā

Thank you this has been invaluable to me as an actress developing this character :)

Now that Iāve discovered theĀ āsave as draftā feature, I have this whole backlog of things Iāve been meaning to post. I saved this back around when I reblogged that Kitlaf song. Iām not sure I can really say I ship them, but I mean, who doesnāt get beach scene feels. Well, and hero/villain ships are kind of my thing--although I suppose thereās enough moral ambiguity with Kit that itās not that simple, which makes the dynamic that much more interesting.
I also think this is a really neat art style, like an old cameo necklace. It feels like something you might find half buried by ash after a fire stole this old necklace from its hiding place in the attic where it was tucked away decades ago. A strange old relic, full of stories and secrets, which one might turn over in oneās fingers, contemplating.Ā
I also find the pose interesting, how Olaf is somewhere between pulling away and leaning in. The artist has done a great job of making the silhouettes recognizable, too; Kitās messy, pencil-decorated hair is spot on.
And all I do is kiss you, through the bars of a rhyme.Ā
I would like to present: Pirate Killjoycore! Iām pretty sure Iām not the first person to suggest pirates in the Danger DaysĀ āverse*āafter all, we know that east of Battery City, the desert is full of runaways fighting BLI, but thereās all that ocean to the west unaccounted for. Why wouldnāt someĀ ājoys run off to sea instead of the desert, steal some boats, and carry on the fight on the other front?Ā
So, I wanted to try and capture how the Killjoy vibe might play out on the pirate side of things. I figure someĀ ājoys steal big yachts and graffiti them up and manage to run them off of the same mystical fuel source cars in the Zones run on. Maybe others who canāt get the magic gas thing to work for them or who don't want to rely on fuel patchwork together sails from scraps of fabric, graffiti those, and cobble together some rigging--and maybe some were lucky enough to grab up actual Tall Ships for that authentic Pirate Vibe.
If youāre a pirateĀ ājoy, of course, your boat will also be your crewās home, so I figure theyāre pretty cozy and colorful inside, too (and probably pretty cluttered, but in a homey way). As far as Pirate Killjoy fashion, I imagine itās as bright, chaotic, and colorful as its counterpart Zones fashion, except naturally more pirate-inspired, with long swishy coats and big hats.Ā
I have a lot more Pirate Killjoycore pictures saved that didnāt make it into this moodboard, too, so let me know if thereās something specific youād like to see more of! I can always make posts with individual pictures, too; my standard moodboard formatting wasnāt working this time since I needed my pictures to be different widths and heights for this one, so I had to make it elsewhere, hence why itās all one image, but if you want to see one or more pictures closer, let me know.Ā
Seriously though feel free to ask me about Pirate Killjoys and related aesthetics! I am very slow about answering asks but I do have many thoughts about this :)Ā
Sources and more below the cut.
*I thought for sure at one point Iād seen a headcanon post about pirates in the DDverse, but I havenāt been able to find anything in the tags. If you have one, feel free to tag me in it or otherwise send it my way!Ā

Disclaimer, I donāt necessarily go through all of my sources, I just grab the pictures and links from image searches; that said, I did happen to click around a bit and the image on the flickr account the bottom left picture came from is right next to a picture of a dead person so I felt like I should give fair warning in case you decide to look through that flickr at all. It appears to be some part of a funeral procession in India but the dead person is clearly visible so, fair warning.Ā
Also I did watch the video on La Preciosa (top left, the boat with the smiley face) and that was pretty cool (and had definite Killjoy vibes). :)Ā Ā
Also technically I found the first graffitied tall ship here but I did a reverse image search to find my sources and the artistās page has more information about the painting. Now that I look at the original post though, you can actually see the details of the painting better there I think.Ā
Part two of this lovely photo analysis of Nygmobblepot. Also, regarding your point on 4x14 about the Riddler, I definitely agree. Ed and the Riddler are not nearly as separate as he likes to think of himself as being--and even if they were, both of them care deeply for Oswald.

This reminds me, just the other day I was thinking about which MCR album would correspond to which house! I feel like Danger Days has pretty obvious Gryffindor energy, what with the whole Killjoy storyline being all about impulsive bravery and a fight for ideals. Then, I decided Iād put Black Parade with Ravenclaw, since itās a very contemplative and philosophical album, reflecting on and exploring death as it does. Also,Ā itās theatrical as heck, and you know Ravenclaw has plenty of theatre nerds (including me, and several other theater people I know).Ā
The last two I had a harder time with, because I feel like a good case could be made for both Bullets and Revenge for being associated with either Hufflepuff or Slytherin. Bullets has that close-knit family-feel of the āvan daysā, and thereās something hardworking and loyal and bristling with Hufflepuff energy about the band just starting out, that whole āus vs the worldā mentality they had. (I know this is based less on the album and more on the era than the first two, thought I feel itās also somewhat reflected in the songs- youāre not in this alone...). At the same time, though, early MCR were certainly ambitious, and thereās perhaps somewhat of an edge of dark cunning in some of the songs, too.Ā
Revenge, on the other hand, is also underlaid by loyalty, albeit a darker, murderous loyalty, that of one Demolition Lover to another. The quest for 1,000 souls and the ideals of vengeance could perhaps be construed as Slytherin ambitiousness, but at the same time, if weāre going by the narrative of the Demolition Lovers, then a desperate, tragic love is really the driving source more so than personal ambition; but then again, the pair only got themselves separated in the first placeĀ because of their criminal ambitions.Ā
My gut says that Bullets is more Hufflepuff and Revenge is more Slytherin, but it could easily be the other way around.Ā
How about... a Time Agent with a banana instead of a gun?Ā

My gosh, these are beautiful. The color and the lighting are so delicate and the water is just glowing. I love how faint the ships coming through the fog are. Also boats are beautiful in general and this captures that, plus the water looks like candy in some of these. Lovely <3
