The makeup scene we didn’t get.

“Alright?”

“Not really. But I’m not talking to you right now, so it doesn’t matter”

Aaron swallows tightly and draws in a deep breath as he sits down next to Robert on the bench, nodding.

“Fair enough. I’ll just sit here until you let up”

Robert stares straight ahead of himself, crossing his arms over his chest for good measure, and Aaron forces himself not to be irritated, reminding himself that he’s supposed to be apologising. 

Rob shows no signs of paying any attention to Aaron at all, so he shrugs to himself and tugs the baccy, rizzlas and filters from his pocket, rolling a cig on his knee. He lights up and breathes in a few times, glancing sideways once before holding the cig out, loose and nonchalant; there if Robert wants it, there if he doesn’t. 

They go a good minute before Robert glares, taking the cig anyways, still tight jawed and determined to ignore him, but relaxing ever so slightly with his first few tokes. 

“I’m sorry,” Aaron starts, accepting the cig back “this is all really fuckin messy right now, and I don’t want what we have to be messy too”

“Well you drew the short straw there, mate,” Robert snorts bitterly and Aaron sits back against the wood properly, shaking his head.

“I used to think that, y’know? But lately its like… you’re one of the only things in my life that makes my brain go quiet”

“Aaron, it was only a few weeks ago that you were telling me you can’t think straight around me”

“Well that’s half true, I mean, there’s nothing straight about us”

Aaron has a small smile on his face, and he nudges Rob softly, desperate to loosen some of the tension between them. It physically aches, and he’s so tired of aching, so tired of feeling like he’s balancing on a tightrope barely hanging on. 

“God, I hate you,” Robert sighs, looking up at the sky for strength, although amusement glitters in his eyes and Aaron grins, egged on by some of the weight lifting. 

“Nah, you love me. I’m a delight”

“Aaron, please just go away”

Aaron swallows again and sucks heavily on his cig, before passing it to Robert again. He takes it despite his better judgement.

“You gonna tell me to get out of your life? You usually love throwing my words back at me”

“This is what I mean; how the fuck are we supposed to move on if you keep assuming nothing’s changed?”

Aaron closes his eyes and puffs excess air out through his cheeks. A moment later, the itching on his skin becomes just too unbearable and he shuffles closer, feeling his blood get warmer, comfort washing over him at the weight of his boyfriend’s frame against his own.

when this all comes boiling over and Rebecca is found to be the closet manipulator no one realized and they realize she’s been lying this whole time…. i want Aaron and Vic to go after her and go after her hard.  I want them to fight for Rob because he’s going to be devastated after getting attached to the idea of becoming of father to his own son and having it ripped from him.   I want them to fight for him, the same way he has ALWAYS fought for them….tooth and nail.   i want someone to fight for Robert Jacob Sugden and I want it to be the two people he loves the most.

y’know what, watching very early robron 2014 stuff, leading up to the kiss and early 2015 too, just blows my mind. it’s actually ridiculous how far they’ve come. like, just watching this stuff and seeing how everything is so new for them and there’s that air of restless energy that they have around each other, just because it’s so new and they dont really know what to do. any they weren’t really friends and it was just this physical attraction. but compare that to now? ITS SO DIFFERENT. like it’s a massive difference. there’s still that same tension now but its softer and calmer and you can just see how comfortable they are around each other now, compared to 2014/early 2015. it’s like now they have this underlying respect and love for each other, they’re boyfriends but what is important to me, and what aaron’s abuse storyline allowed for, was robron to create this friendship that they had never really had before. and that built the solid foundation for their relationship now. and dont get me wrong, i loved the affair, that passionate, irresistible attraction they had for each other, that meant they couldnt stay away from each other but now? it’s not that it’s gone, its just that it’s a lot more layered and calmer. and both robert and aaron need some calmness in their lives right now and i think they find that in each other.

i find it hard to believe that they will ever lose that passion and chemistry that brought them together in the first place, it’s just now there’s is a whole lot of love and sincerity to them too. i mean, power couple much?
