I live with my father and my younger brother Khaled. Khaled completed his studies in Accounting and used to work with my father in his workshop. My father owned an aluminum manufacturing workshop, and despite the difficulties, our life was relatively stable.But the war left us with nothing

•This is what remains of the home that was once filled with memories and dreams 💔.

In a single moment, everything collapsed. We lost our home, which held all our moments, I lost my university, which was my refuge for achieving my dream, and we lost my father’s workshop, our only source of income. The war forced us to flee from northern Gaza, and we found ourselves in a school in the Al-Zawayda area, trying to adapt to a harsh reality we cannot escape.

• This is how dreams and aspirations are killed without mercy 💔.

This is my younger brother Khaled, who finished his university studies and dreamed of pursuing a master’s degree 💪. But his dream was shattered, just like everything else, when his university was destroyed 🏫💔.

Despite all this indescribable suffering, I have not lost hope. I know I must start over, but I cannot do it alone. I want to help my family build a new life and revive the dreams we did not allow the war to erase.❤️

Mohammed, who used to run and play, now sits in a corner, frightened, refusing to leave my side 😢. As for little Adam, he has never known the taste of comfort or a good night’s sleep 🥺💤. Even his innocent laughter has become a thing of the past.

Hunger, Thirst, and Slow Death…🍞💧💊

We are now homeless 🏚️, without food 🍽️, and without clean water 💧. My children go to bed hungry and in pain, waking up each morning with only remnants of hope 😞😣. It's captioned "these white spots going in a circle are called Brushfield spots. A lot of people with DS have them". Below that is a step-by-step tutorial on drawing eyes. fifth slide. first section is titled "nose + mouth area". text reads "this is pretty loose and not every person with DS even has visible differences there, some might only have some, etc". Below that is a drawing of a man with DS wearing a yarmulke. The text next to him reads "nose is generally flat; no philtrum (the part between lips and nose is smooth); nose can be smaller and higher up (slightly); smaller upper lip*; tongue is physically larger, some people might stick it out". The asterisk leads to a text box: "again though, people with DS look different from each other and these are Relative. A Black person with DS might have a slightly smaller lip while a white person can look like they don't have upper lips at all". For a small fandom, being another victim of trash adaptation—it is, for sure, undeniably obnoxious. A book where the Jewish diaspora is both metaphorical and literal, the concept of peculiarities, and the world-building that's centered around "time"—I don't have the words to describe how fast I got off from the peculiardom. Honestly, it's quite personal to me because it's so gothic, noir-ish, and it's magically haunting. I wish I would've been immersed with Jacob's character wholly if he wasn't limited through his love life.

It's unfair for the franchise to begin with because I believe the popularity died down after the movie came out. No one is gonna acknowledge the books because all the shit that's made it profound are missing onto the screen. Or, perhaps because it went on until 2021 to the point that more popular stuff uproared that the books collided within the shadows (which is interesting because ToA never got this treatment, but it's R-ck's work. The reviews for it aren't piss, though.) The fanarts are another thing. I've drawn for the fandom, but it's only about Fiona and Hugh. Aside from me, everything else is about fucking Enoch.

Urgent! Please help a father save his three young daughters from war

I was reached out to by Ahed to make a post for his family. This fundraiser is vetted by Gazavetters, #229 on their spreadsheet

Ahed is a 33 year old father of three young girls with his wife Maisoon. Getting Ahed the funds to evacuate his family is very urgent because they have three children under the age of ten with them, who currently don’t have access to food, clean water, or medical treatment they need. They’re at risk of bombs, infectious illnesses, and starvation every day they remain in Gaza. every hour matters

Ahed’s daughters are the light of his life and his motivation to keep going, and he’s campaigning on here every day to keep them safe. In Ahed’s words, his daughter Fatima (9) is “the closest to my heart, and my little one.”, Iman (6) “The friendly, kind, and loving child who is loved by everyone”, and little Nour, only one year old: “Who did not live her life like other children, as she was born two months before the war”.

Imagine that you’ve just had a baby girl, and you look at her with so much love and imagine with excitement what a bright future she’ll have and how she’ll play with her siblings. And only two months later, your whole life is turned upside down, and you have to wonder every day how you’ll feed her and keep her safe.

This is what happened to Ahed and his wife when they should’ve been at their happiest with a newborn daughter, everything turned into a nightmare. Their apartment was destroyed in a bombing, they were displaced multiple times, and suddenly they were raising their beautiful daughters in a war zone.

Every hour in Gaza is dangerous. Please help get Ahed, Maisoon and their children to safety as soon as possible 🙏🏼 Every donation will bring them closer to a future where Fatima, Iman, and Nour can play together and go to school and rest and recover from what they’ve been through.

Please give Ahed and Maisoon peace where they don’t have to watch their children suffer from illness and malnutrition, the worst thing for a parent to experience.

Please let Nour experience what peace feels like.

i know i shouldnt be suprised but sinners being out for less than a week and already tumblr is fandomifying and 'poor wet pathetic cat'-ifying the main white man villain of the movie is so... disapointing??? like did the fucking point of the movie really go over your heads that badly or are you just willingly ignorant and stupid?

AND BEFORE ANYONE STARTS; im not saying you cant like remmick, he's a very interesting character, a great villain, and jack o'connell gave a great performance playing him, nor do i care if you think hes sexy, I think hes sexy

but i think to come out of a movie where vampires serve as a metaphor for how black american communities have the life sucked out of them by white people via cultural appropriation (remmick wanting to use sammie's gift to summon his own ancestors) and forced assimilation (all the turned vampires singing and dancing along with remmick's irish folk song and dance juxtaposed with the blend of cultures during sammie's song in the juke joint) and for your main take away to be 'aww the main villain is just a misunderstood sadboy' or 'idc abt the atrocities he looked sexy doing them (when the atrocities in question were racism)' then youre just being so disengenuous and antithetical to the whole point of the film?

and dont come at me with the 'let people enjoy things' bullshit, sinners is a movie FUNDAMENTALLY about racism and racial dynamics in the united states, and i do think focusing on your little y/n x [whiteboy of the month] fics and 'hes so babygirl' posts do actually stunt your own critical engagement with the message this movie was trying to convey to its audience

i think its also a disservice to remmick's character; the moral nuance that comes to light when you consider his position as an irish immigrant to the US, a victim of the colonialist british empire just like the black main cast (although in a very different way) and how, whilst his desire to reclaim his ancestry and heritage is understandable and even relatable, his pursuit of sammie and willingness to kill literally everyone else at the juke joint is allegorical for how, regardless of their own marginalisation, white people will prey upon and steal from black culture(s) and destroy/disenfranchise black communities to serve their own interests, and the movie is NOT subtle about this either, delta slim literally lays it out for us "white folks like the blues just fine, they just don't like the people who make them"

idk im yelling into the void here, the ppl im complaining about are never going to give a shit about racism or even just critically engaging with art when theres a new cute whiteboy to write fluff and angst about, but its just soooo annoying to see, yet again, how fandom spaces, which SHOULD be about uplifing and celebrating art in all its diversity and complexity, once again is nothing more than people ignoring anything that actually makes them have to confront reality and filing off the serial numbers to slot characters into pre-determined fanon molds so they can pump out incorrect quotes and coffee shop AUs en masse until the media iliterate heat death of the universe
