HOW PLANETS AFFECT THE APPEARANCE✨

so we all know that our ascendant has to do with our appearance. But having planets aspecting the ascendant also does a lot, so lets have a look how each planet affects us physically!

Each house represents a certain body part, so having a planet in a house affects specifically that one thing, but I will get into that in another post. Now we are looking at overall appearance bcs of the aspects.

⭐️Sun: Makes things radiant, noticable and more masculine. Usually tall, athletic people with bright eyes and smiles. Beautiful thick hair. Gives off very bright and positive energy and people often gravitate towards them.

⭐️Moon: Makes things softer, rounder and cute. These people can have full cheeks, big dreamy eyes and youthful expressions. Also makes the body curvier and rounder. They are usually the mom friend.

⭐️Mercury: Makes things longer and leaner. Fox-like face. A person with these aspects might have a longer face, nose and overall be tall and skinny with long limbs. They appear smart but also mischevious.

⭐️Venus: Makes things more feminine, soft and ‘beautiful’. Gives a symmetrical face with bright eyes. This people appear very sensual and have beautiful feminine features (doesnt matter if a man or woman). People see them as traditionaly beautiful.

⭐️Mars: Makes things more masculine and rough. These people have this fire in their eyes that you cant really describe. Gives a strong jaw, nose and eyebrows. They have masculine features (again doesnt matter if its a man or a woman). Also makes someone very athletic.

⭐️Jupiter: Makes things bigger. These people might have bigger facial features (forehead, eyes, lips..) and they usually look much younger than they are. Comes off as friendly and approachable.

⭐️Saturn: Makes things smaller. Can make someone appear older than they are. Usually smaller eyes, lips etc. Gives also some ‘bony’ body parts.These people come off as serious and mature.

⭐️Uranus: Makes things unique. Unusual features, this can manifest in any way. Usually bigger forheads, may have some unique freckles or marks.

⭐️Neptune: Makes things dreamy and fluid. There is always something unique about their appearance. Big dreamy eyes and full lips. Soft skin. They are probably daydreaming 24/7, so they look distracted a lot.

⭐️Pluto: Makes things darker, sexy and ‘intense’. Darker eyes, skinny noses and darker hair. People with these aspects come off as intimidating and kinda unapproachable but also super alluring. Very intense gaze. Resting bitch face.

And the way I did it was learn astrology and read the Story of Tarot for the Major Arcanas.

Actually to give  you some info into the Story of Tarot,because I’ve always wanted to make this post.. it takes us through the Major Arcanas and their stories through the perspective of the Fool,since the Fool represents humanity and the divine child or the universal traveler,an outlier that can travel freely from the outside and look in(Uranus influence in astrology). The rest of the majors are things he has to learn. From the Mage he learns to use his intellect to create change and use the elements of nature(as the planet of Mercury teaches), from the High Priestess he learns to use the powers of the subconscious and listen in stillness(The Moon), from the Empress he witnesses beauty and creativity(Venus) and the Emperor is the one who orders and directs that (Aries). The Hierophant keeps the peace and values of the Kingdom(Taurus),while the Lovers represent the diversity coming together within it (Gemini),and the Chariot represents the protection against different currents and forces(Cancer). As he travels from this safe space into the world he encounters the girl with the Lion, Strength(Leo) who teaches that inner power is not about dominion as much as it is about expression, meets the Hermit(Virgo) in his isolation where he witnesses the dedication the hermit has to inner truth, and notices that he himself has become expanded and changed by this journey so far as he is confronted with the Wheel of fortune(Jupiter). Because he has taken from everyone yet contributed little he is now faced with Justice(Libra) to learn about balancing himself in relation to the world, and with this he has to learn acceptance and personal sacrifice as the Hanged Man (Neptune),in that he is affected and affects others. This leads to a transformation or Death(Scorpio) where he becomes more profound, and afterwards more emotionally balanced in his ideals gaining Temperance(Sagittarius) that allows him to put his regular experiences into a higher perspective. He has not yet solidified his personal boundaries so he has to pass through the reign of the Devil in which people appear bound and submissive where he is taught that they are submissive because of their own choice and lack of ambitions (Capricorn), and then he is tested and reminded that ambitions and desire need to be built in truth or else they will crumble like the lighting that strikes the Tower(Mars). Because of this tragedy with the Tower all seems lost and he needs to learn the lesson of renewal and hope,that the Water of the Star (Aquarius) provides when he meets her, and because of this he feels as though he is carried away through so much that when night comes he loses his sense of self and had to learn to deal with being sensitive to the environment and discerning intuition from illusion with the Moon(Pisces),and that although the Moon represents the confusion of the unconscious, conscious knowledge and life is stronger and a happy and creative occurance (The Sun). Afterwards,he has faced everyone and he only has himself  left to face,so we come to Judgement (Pluto) that asks for total self transformation,coming to terms with our repressed aspects be it guilt, desires etc so that we may bring it all to light and become accountable and completely mature with the World card(Saturn). 

And after that? His Journey starts again. He ends up in the place he started from because it’s supposed to be a cyclical thing so that we can use these archetypes no matter where we find ourselves in our lives.

As for the minor arcanas. They are the 4 elements. Wands relate to Will,Fire or Spirit, Swords relate to Mind,Air or Dualism(communication,relationshps,conflict), Cups to Emotion,Water or intuition,imagination,love. Pentacles to Earth,formalism,the body,the material world etc.

The court cards are a bit special being mixed of elements. Where pages represent a young version of an element (Air of something), Knights an adult version,enduring,working(Earth of an element), Queens the nurturing feminine side (Water of an element) and Kings a leader (Fire of an element). Thus a Queen of Wands would be Water of Fire . An emotionally independent type,like a motivating mother,whereas Knight of Pentacles would be Earth of Earth,slow reliable and enduring worker.

The smaller ones mix up numerology with their element (1s are beginnings and pure elements,2s are about relating or choices,3s about harmonizing and coming together,4s about building a foundation,5s about disharmony and conflict,6s about harmony,7s about spiritual seeking,8s about boundaries,9s about abundance,10s about completion).

As for the sign correlation with the Minor Arcanas, I usually base myself off the Hermetic pack but not every reader agrees on which card is Mercury in Aries and which is Venus in Virgo or other such details. There’s some general consensus with the Golden Dawn interpretations that I mostly agree with and recommend but other than that with the minors depending on the pack you have you need to feel into them and see if it makes sense to you.

the different colors the mornings can have. sometimes it’s an orange hue and sometimes pink and sometimes it’s too misty to tell

pretty color schemes in random places (the trees and your neighbors wooden patio and the color of their car)

the states of the vehicles passing you by, dents and scratches and the different trinkets suspended from their rearview mirrors

the sound of silence

the shadows the lights cast in your home, like how sunset looks different than sunrise, and the shadows the sun casts look different than those of your lamps and candles

pretty details in buildings and houses like certain types of windows or doorknobs or archways

the movement of things in the wind. flags, leaves, flowers, people’s hair and coats

Cleansing The Cards

It’s natural for tarot cards to accumulate & harbor energy, since that is the primary force they operate through; it can “clog” or “restrain” them, making them rather unproductive, though it doesn’t damage them. They simply need to rest and be refreshed every now & then, just like the reader does.

METHODS ||

I suggest trying all of them out & sticking to the ones that work for you.

Shuffling Simply shuffle the deck with the intention of cleansing it, in whatever way that’s most comfortable for you & for as long as you feel you need to.

Sorting Sort the cards – arrange them in order of the 22 Major Arcana and 4 suits of the 56 Minor Arcana. Allow the deck to “rest” in proper sequence for a while. You could also simply sort the cards so that all are upright & none reversed.

Knocking Tap the deck against something, or tap it with your hands / another object.

Sunlight (This method is better for projective/masculine decks.) Place the deck in sunlight and leave it there until you feel that all the unwanted energy has been burned, faded, blinded, or driven out.

Moonlight (This method is better for receptive/feminine decks.) Place the deck in moonlight and leave it there until you feel that all the unwanted energy has been drained, coaxed, flushed, or guided out.

Salt Place the deck in a sealed, air-tight plastic bag and bury it in organic salt. Let the salt soak up the excess energy for a few days, or until you feel it’s done.

Crystals Place a crystal that corresponds to your intention upon the deck, or somewhere near it. You could also form a crystal grid around it.

Smoke Pass the deck through the smoke of incense or burning plants that correspond to your intention (most people would use dried sage or rosemary).

Pendulums Swing a pendulum of your choice clockwise in circular motions above or on the surface around the deck with your intention in mind until you feel that all the unwanted energy has been drawn out & expelled.

Sound Play any instrument with your intention in mind, or place the deck near a speaker and play music that corresponds to your intention.

*You can also cleanse each card individually rather than the whole deck at once, if you prefer. It takes longer but it’s more thorough & “intimate”

MAINTENANCE ||

After cleansing your deck, store it in a special box/bag/cloth and/or with a quartz crystal to protect and generally upkeep its clean state.

Simple tip: cleanse your deck every time you use it. This is the easiest way to maintain a healthy deck, & the ritual of it can improve your general relationship with the cards as well as your connection with them in the moment.

Other good opportunities to cleanse your deck: - It’s brand-new / inherited / borrowed / secondhand - Another person has come into contact with it (especially if it was without your permission – the deck will let you know if it’s been meddled with) - It has come into direct contact with a surface or object you didn’t want it to (this mainly applies to the tarot readers who take extra precautions to preserve the energetic integrity of their deck – such as only laying the cards on a designated cloth/mat/board, not allowing others to touch them, etc) - It has come into direct contact with another deck - It hasn’t been used for a long period of time - It’s been accidentally scattered/messed up/physically damaged - Many different readings have been performed with it - An extensive/intense reading has been performed with it

Symptoms of a deck that needs to be cleansed: - An irregularly large amount of cards drawn in a reading are reversed - An irregularly large amount of cards are falling or popping out of the deck while you shuffle & handle it in general / the deck won’t stay together - The readings are becoming unclear, or you’re having an unnecessarily difficult time interpreting & discerning their meaning; you’re getting mixed messages, the cards aren’t cohesive, and so on. If you feel like you’re not gaining anything out of the readings you do with a deck, you need to cleanse it. - You get the sense that you need to cleanse the deck. This could manifest in many different ways; perhaps you feel bored of the deck or distant from it, or perhaps its “personality” changes, or perhaps you simply feel off about it. Common “off” feelings are slowness or lethargy, disengagement, bitterness, exhaustion, a sense of a contrary or combative disposition, misplaced irony, dullness or hollowness, strain, stress, aggravation, confusion, or alienation, and may come from either you or the deck itself when you interact with it. - You can’t bring yourself to focus on the readings you do with it; neither you nor the deck can maintain your concentration / awareness / full presence. - You consistently lose and misplace the deck or you can’t find it when you want to use it – or other people have moved it, even just once. If you don’t give it a spot and it tends to wander around your house, that may translate into your cards. Cleanse them and pick a permanent/regular place to keep them. - The deck loses its “magic” and begins to feel like plain paper to you - Using the deck consistently drains, frustrates, upsets, or annoys you / using it no longer brings you whatever beneficial quality it usually does.
