Word Origin: The term “Monday” refers to the moon or “the day of the moon”. This is derived from the Old English term for the day “Mōnandæg,” which is named after Máni, the Norse God of the Moon and Sól’s brother. The word for “Monday” in other languages often includes the word “Luna” or some form of it. For example in Latin it is “Dies Lunae”, in Spanish it is “Lunes”, in French it is “Lundi”, and in Italian, it is “Lunedi”. Whether it is the first or second day of the week is determined by religious practice or a different outside force or connotation. Oftentimes Sunday is considered the first day of the week as it is “the day of the sun”, and “the day of the moon” follows afterward.
Folklore: Monday is associated with the lunar deities such as Khonsu (Egypt) and Artemis (Greek). In religions such as Islam, Monday is one of the two days of fasting, the other being Thursday. Culturally, Monday is depicted as a day of depression, anxiety, and melancholy as it marks the beginning of the working week. Therefore, Monday is depicted as a quiet day, which would correspond to elements of self-care, rejuvenation, and cleansing. I’d also associate Monday to be a day to do spells associated with attracting wealth, abundance, and luck within the career, due to it being the start of the typical 5-day working week.

I know a lot of baby witches have trouble with finding where to start out so I complied a list of good resources for the absolute beginner witch!! Hope this helps ❤️🌿
Witchy starter terms
Witch terms pt.2
Witchcraft symbols
Tree magick
Herb master post
(smudging is a term from Native American that is not an open practice, smoke cleansing is called Smoke Cleansing, smudging is closed as well as white sage and san palo, important Native American herbs)
I would definitely look into what are closed practices, as to avoid any cultural appropriation as many things like ‘honey jars’ or hoodoo powders are actually from closed or semi closed practices. It is important to know where these come from and it’s cultures as to avoid closed practices appropriation and to use some things like Nazar or chakras to know the significance and actual history and if you can work with them or not. Especially with spells or Deities or anything new.
Some closed practices info (not all of the closed practices in the world)

( I would lay off deity work at the beginning, you might never work with any, but it can be extremely dangerous even lethal and some dieties are from closed religions)
Home magick
Protection magick
Protection magick pt2
I would wait to do spells until you have all your information and research and do protection spells for your first spells. Also I wouldn’t do blood magick, as it is very powerful and can have major consequences if you don’t know what your doing, and spirit work or any work with deities.

I would definitely also look into some history of witchcraft and paganism (not just Wicca to the 1960’s history, but of the growth of witchcraft in the Renaissance era as well as traditional magic with the Greeks, to Celtic etc, as the impacts of those occultists, as some are very problematic like Crowley), as well as the impacts of other cultures and practices like Hinduism, Native American, Jewish Mysticism etc on modern western spirituality and giving that homage back to those cultures e.g chakras, yoga, spirit animals (closed practice), smudging, dream catchers, Kabbalah etc

*UPDATED - original post was 196 prompts
After a lifetime of subtle magic and a year of failing to step into my power, I wrote this personalized curriculum to learn my own individual Witchcraft over 366 days. There are 206 points on the list. Some will take a bit of time and work. Others require more simple answers.
I used the words "personalized" and "individual" for a reason. Witchcraft is very personal. We are all individuals and nothing we do looks exactly the same. Some of the points may not suit you. Adjust or omit them.
I will be kicking this off with a devotional river bath on June 1st.
Follow me on Instagram if you'd to tag along. Inspired by https://sammmango.tumblr.com/post/175974393404/a-whopping-list-of-grimoire-prompts-and-ideas

what matters most about your interests is that they make you happy. whether other people find them productive is irrelevant. you don’t have to produce anything. you are not a machine. your interests aren’t for others. your interests are for you. do what makes you happy.
Venus in the 9th house - Higher Mind Honeymoon
She is free in her wildness, she is a wanderess, a drop of free water. She knows nothing of borders and cares nothing for rules or customs. ‘Time’ for her isn’t something to fight against. Her life flows clean, with passion, like fresh water.
Roman Payne
Venus in the 9th people have a sacred appreciation for the human mind, body, and spirit that calls her to devotion into worshiping, apotheosising, and celebrating their existence like a lifelong religion. The higher mind is an ornate and scenic dwelling with exquisite decor, books open and warm from fresh eyes, and the desire to realise the ideal philosophy into physical existence. Love is a personal and cosmic experience for the person with Venus in the 9th. The individual may voyage through hearts and minds searching for the relationship that unveils the ultimate divine reunion. She recognises the Goddess within people and recreates their stories in her own mythology. There is typically a fondness for learning, blooming her mind, and reading the thoughts of God that other people have transcribed through theology, astrology, creative writing, and philosophy. She is receptive to expansive and enlightening conversation, and there may be a natural attraction to teachers, intellects, writers, travellers, and spiritual guides. There may be displayed interest in different cultures and rituals, the human psyche, sociology, anthropology, writing, educating, law, publishing, international relations and diplomacy. She may have a calling to visit far away landscapes, experience different faiths, doctrines, and beliefs, taste exotic cuisine, and hear the voices of an unknown language play a melody in her ear. She is inspired by the natural beauty that reveals itself with different colours in every corner of the globe, divine poetry comes to life before her eyes, and she is receptive to every gesture of love that the universe conducts. The act of self-indulgence and satiating personal pleasure is a ceremonial prayer and gratitude for the Gods.
The heart can long for vague image of salvation in love with Venus in the 9th, and the ideal universe is her remarriage with spirit and matter. The individual carries her philosophy and applies it wherever she goes. For example if she is a psychologist, she sees the practice of psychology as a great philosophy, or if she is a teacher she is educating by the manner of her higher personal teaching philosophy. Otherworldly material can taste luck sucking cotton candy, and there can be enchanting allure into the sights and sound beyond this world. She may attach to belief systems for the image rather than practice the teachings, buy new age books and charms on impulse, and mimic the right language. This is absolutely less than satisfying and she knows deep down that her heart is absent. It’s possible that during dark periods of her life that she abandons or feels betrayed by her faith. These hefty spiritual ideals can also be unknowingly projected onto her relationship partner. Without causation she can become dissatisfied, underwhelmed, or sensing that something is missing from her relationship. She manages to find the inclusive love that she desires through her personal relationship with the inner Goddess. As she lays her head to sleep, she can hear the song that the stars wrote just for her, listen to sacred charms blow through the wind, and let the light rise her in the sunlight. The universe reveals spiritual law in delicate and harmonic natural sequences. It designs a magnificent, exclusive sanctuary that brings her ashore with gentle waves crashing honeycomb milk from a crystal lagoon. Shared experience is a prayer and cosmic elevator with Venus in the 9th. She catches a glimpse of the divine when she has been moved by beauty, entranced creatively, delighting in collective joy, and through the love that she receives.
